She was super organized, had great advice, recommended vendors, helped me design the most BEAUTIFUL layout for the wedding, helped me save money in A LOT of places, and my favorite part, became such a sweet friend throughout the process, there in the highs and there in the lows. Nickie is such a gem of a person and so are all her team members. I’m telling you, they seriously think of everything. I can not be more grateful and pleased with Sam if I tried!! I hired her for The Day of Coordinator to help everything run smoothly. Her professionalism & knowledge was just what we needed to make this happen. Her sweet personality was a huge bonus and made us feel so comfortable and at ease. The communication between her and my daughter was excellent. Sam was very prompt with answering any of my daughter’s questions prior, during and after the wedding. Her service fee is VERY reasonable. She traveled from Dayton, three hours each way, for the rehearsal and for the wedding !! Sam and her team helped box all the centerpieces and miscellaneous items while we were still enjoying the evening. This was a huge help and I was very thankful for the extra time that was freed up for us to spend with family and friends. There was a small hiccup with our food caterer and Sam quickly jumped in and solved the problem. I could not have asked for a more perfect day for my daughter, it was everything she dreamed of and we were all stress free thanks to Sam. I would HIGHLY recommend The Black Barn Event Planning. Sam is amazing at what she does!!

Morgan ended up saving the day when our bartender cancelled on us last minute; she stepped in and bartended on top of coordinating. Then she was able to work with me to donate our flowers to a women’s shelter; a cause that hits close to home for me. I cannot recommend Avenue Design Studio enough!!

Heather was such a blessing to me throughout my wedding planning journey!! She met with me several times before the actual wedding weekend and then served as my “week-of wedding coordinator.” She was able to recommend local vendors based on my ideas for the wedding and reception. She spent time making a schedule of wedding weekend events and focused on every small detail. She followed up with all vendors the week of the wedding to make sure the wedding weekend would run as smoothly as possible. The weekend of the wedding, I felt like I could enjoy all of the events and really be present with all of our family and friends. When I was wedding planning I was hesitant to hire a day of coordinator, but I am so glad that I did. Brittany was absolutely the best investment that we made for our wedding. From the first phone call I had with Brittany, her demeanor put me at ease and was a big part of why I decided to hire her. Even though she was only my day of coordinator she helped me book my last couple vendors that I needed. The Sunday before our wedding we did a final walkthrough at the venue where Brittany got the lay of the land, got to ask questions to the venue, make suggestions to me for day of, and make the timeline. She did so much work behind the scenes communicating with vendors that really took the pressure off of me the last few weeks of the wedding. The day of, Brittany arrived to the venue hours before anyone else to set up. She did everything absolutely perfect and kept me updated the whole entire time. During the ceremony and reception she was running around helping the photographer, answering vendor questions, and keeping us on track of the timeline. When the wedding was over Brittany and her husband broke down all the tables and chairs, boxed up our desserts, and helped us get all the decor and gifts loaded in the car. Otherwise I definitely wouldn’t have been able to stay on-track with figuring out details, locking in vendors, making payments on time, etc! She also creates a whole day timeline for your vendors and family members. The day of the wedding, she did FAR more than what I would’ve imagined - she had a whole emergency kit (think sewing kit, tampons, q-tips/tissues, a personal portable fan, bandaids, and more! I think she said she even had toiletries for the bathroom?!), a steamer to steam my wedding dress and the moms’ and SIL’s dresses, having everyone stick to the timeline, welcoming/directing guests as they walked through the venue (we had 3 room changes), moving rentals from one space to another, to dropping off my florals for preservation! She was great to work with!

America is such an amazing person to work with. Wanted to have a wedding of about 150 people in the Chicago Metropolitan area and a budget of 22,000 USD (just wanna say that keeping to the budget was my main goal). This can be typically difficult given the cost of venues and things in the Chicago area. America helped find a glamorous ball-style venue (my preference) that also had an outside lake as a great view for the ceremony. The venue also catered to most of the other needs at a reasonable price. Furthermore, we met regularly with America to go over what our expectations of each vendor would be, and with a great understanding of what we wanted, she was resourceful in getting the appropriate vendors and negotiating a good price with them. She made sure that within the short period of planning (we contacted her about 4 months before the wedding), every step of the plan towards the wedding day was carried out in a timely manner with nothing left unattended to... I mean nothing. On the day of the wedding, she drew up a great timeline and went above and beyond to ensure all went according to plan timely and we were not stressed out. It was such a good and memorable event that we received numerous compliments on it. With her being very affordable for the service she gives and she being intentionally involved in everything, we definitely kept to budget and had better than the wedding we had hoped for. She was on top of her game from start to finish . She isn't only an event planner to us but is also a friend. I thank God for you america and for all you did. These few words cannot fully explain how excellent you are in what you do.
