Hiring Alyssa to the be the day-of coordinator for our daughter’s wedding in April 2022 was the best decision we made in planning for the event. We had met Alyssa when she was the event coordinator at the venue we selected for the wedding. Her friendliness and attention to detail impressed us from the outset. Naturally, we were concerned when she left for another job. But we were elated when she agreed to be the wedding day coordinator. As it turned out, she did so much more than simply keep matters in hand on the day of the wedding. Alyssa worked with us to create a very detailed timeline for both the wedding and the rehearsal the day before. She made sure we knew all of the little things we needed to make the day go smoothly and thus be a success. She contacted all of the vendors (most of whom she knew and had worked with in the past – a huge plus) in advance to make sure everyone knew and adhered to the schedule and plans. We had to move the ceremony indoors to the reception space two days before the wedding due to bad weather. Alyssa made all the necessary changes to the room layout and made sure everyone was prepared for the ceremony. She not only made sure the room was set properly, but also had a plan in place to reset everything quickly after the ceremony. Everything was ready to go well in advance of the start time. Once the ceremony began, Alyssa took over and made sure it ran like clockwork. Yet she did so in the most unobtrusive and low-key manner imaginable – many of our guests remarked at how there were no glitches at all and therefore how enjoyable and lovely the wedding was, but never saw how much work Alyssa was doing behind the scenes. Throughout the evening, Alyssa was always making sure everyone had what they needed – not just the wedding party, but the families and guests. She was unfailingly pleasant and professional throughout – a real joy to work with. Thanks to Alyssa, our daughter’s wedding was as stress-free as any such event could possibly be. We truly could not have managed it without her. She has our highest recommendation.

Her professionalism & knowledge was just what we needed to make this happen. Her sweet personality was a huge bonus and made us feel so comfortable and at ease. The communication between her and my daughter was excellent. Sam was very prompt with answering any of my daughter’s questions prior, during and after the wedding. Her service fee is VERY reasonable. She traveled from Dayton, three hours each way, for the rehearsal and for the wedding !! Sam and her team helped box all the centerpieces and miscellaneous items while we were still enjoying the evening. This was a huge help and I was very thankful for the extra time that was freed up for us to spend with family and friends. There was a small hiccup with our food caterer and Sam quickly jumped in and solved the problem. I could not have asked for a more perfect day for my daughter, it was everything she dreamed of and we were all stress free thanks to Sam. I would HIGHLY recommend The Black Barn Event Planning. Sam is amazing at what she does!!

Heather was such a blessing to me throughout my wedding planning journey!! She met with me several times before the actual wedding weekend and then served as my “week-of wedding coordinator.” She was able to recommend local vendors based on my ideas for the wedding and reception. She spent time making a schedule of wedding weekend events and focused on every small detail. She followed up with all vendors the week of the wedding to make sure the wedding weekend would run as smoothly as possible. The weekend of the wedding, I felt like I could enjoy all of the events and really be present with all of our family and friends. Heather made sure all wedding party members/vendors/venue staff knew what was supposed to happen and when. She made sure everything was running on time and everyone was where they needed to be.
