The Barn at Bull Run is a newly renovated wedding and event space. Originally built in 1933 as a dairy barn, The Barn at Bull Run was owned by Schwab Dairy until it was purchased by the Presbytery of Peoria as well as the surrounding land in the fall of 1967. The Morton Park District now owns the property and has completely restored and renovated the space into a beautiful wedding venue, complete with a ceremony space, reception space, bridal suite, and grooms suite. You, too, can have your special day in the same rooms where Abraham and Mary Lincoln were guests more than 150 years ago, now meticulously restored to the grandeur of their antebellum days. Edwards Place is available to rent for showers, weddings, and receptions – the perfect choice for a distinctive event in a historically significant setting. You can even include extra services for your event, such as the use of a piano often heard by Abraham Lincoln (and possibly played at his wedding!). Our rental space has three areas of possibility - the historic house museum, the grounds in front of Edwards Place, and the M.G. We are located in Southern Edgar County out in the country on a pond. We opened in August of 2010 and produce and bottle our own wine. Our banquet hall is 40x60. area. We have a stone fireplace on the South wall and a stone bar. The rest of the room is open. There is a separate door that enters the banquet hall from the outside, and an exit door to the wine garden outside. If you rent our banquet hall, we will supply you with tables & chairs. The tables will have white tablecloths. We do have a beer & liquor license, but this is for special events only and needs to be mentioned at the time of booking your event.

The mission of the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts is to create an environment where all forms of artistic expression are appreciated, encouraged, and seen as a contribution to the quality of life in our community. Built-in 1921 as a home for the American Passion Play, the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA), then known as Bloomington's Scottish Rite Temple, boasted an elegant lobby fronted by a graceful five-arched façade, a ballroom that could seat 1,000 diners and a 1,320-seat theatre that featured the largest stage west of New York. In 2000, The City of Bloomington formed the Bloomington Cultural District to assume ownership of the Consistory and surrounding properties to shepherd it through a restoration.

Engelbrecht Farm sits on 8 acres and is located in the heart of farming country. A very unique structural features of the barn is the opening to allow guests to be seated to two levels and both levels can look at the head table for a gallery type feel. The other unique feature is its size. It is the largest actual barn (not modern structure that looks like a barn) within multiple states at 4500 square feet. Adjacent to the barn is the old 4000 square foot feedlot with flower garden and iron pergola. Late in the day makes for a great spot for outdoor games. With the barn comes the recently restored, three bedroom farmhouse originally constructed in the 1890’s. One amazing aspect for the wedding package is it’s a standard three day booking. Families arrive on Friday and check out on Sunday. This gives them time to relax and take the whole experience in. Plus the time is spent making their wedding their own. At the Barn at Brophy Creek, we are a family run business on a fourth generation farm. Running along the edge of Brophy Creek, the farm was purchased in the 1950's by my grandfather who immigrated from Germany and worked the farm as a hired man when he was 18 years old. The next generation took over and my dad began farming the land. My husband and I moved into the farmhouse where we raised our 4 beautiful children. I’ve stayed on this acreage my entire life. It is my history. Eventually, my dad retired and the buildings began to deteriorate. I knew we had to save these historic buildings and share them with the community, so we got creative and dreamed up the wedding and event venue that Brophy Creek is today. Luckily, my husband is able to take the dreams and visions I have in my head and make them reality. In 2015 we began dreaming it up, tearing it apart, and rebuilding - we've put our lives into this space.

Construction on the Lake Springfield Postal Club began in the early 1940s. Post office employees donated over 50,000 hours on weekends, evenings and days off to complete the building. A team of horses and a sliding bucket were used to dig out the basement. The Postal Club officially opened in 1948. The total construction cost was approximately $15,000. In 2005, there were only two of the original Postal Club members left. In 2000 the Postal Club merged with the Springfield Firefighters Local 37. In 2001 the firefighters burned down the original Postal Club to make way for a new building. The new club was completed in 2002. The total construction cost was $3.6 million. The clubhouse is surrounded by 5 acres of woods, with boathouses, docks, beaches, parking lot, sidewalks, bandstand, and much more.
