I've been a professional photographer since 2016 but really I've been invested in photography since I was 15 years old. My love for documenting moments came from a desire to capture my own life and that of my friends using disposable cameras to using flip phone cameras and point and shoot digital cameras on beach trips with friends. I have used writing, art, and photo to document my life and it is an incredibly special thing to be able to share that with my clients.

After graduating from Parson's School of Art in Manhattan, I worked as a fine artist, my work involved photography and photo manipulation. I quickly discovered that I loved and excelled at photo retouching, and went on to work for some of the best photo retouching studios in New York. In 2009 I shot my first wedding, it was a dear friend of mine and the beautiful photos were featured in one of the biggest wedding magazines. I realized that I had found my calling and have been producing stunning wedding photographs with my amazing team and clients ever since.

Here's my photography short story: 2017, after 13 years of teaching, I said goodbye to the classroom and pursued Olympic weightlifting photography- my company was Everyday Lifters. Shortly after, I launched my wedding business. The Long Version: Weightlifting has taken me to places like Turkmenistan, Germany, & across the country! The weightlifters started getting married, and along the way, I received training to advocate for diverse bodies as a photographer. There is a dusty old photo album that I’ve looked at hundreds of times. It is from my parents’ wedding more than 40 years ago. It shows me a little piece of my history every time I look at those images. When I lost my father, I realized his memory lives on in those images for me. It’s like this perfect window into the past that I want to give each and every one of my wedding clients.

I’ll try to keep this short: I’m a silly, introverted, rule breaker with a sincere whimsical streak. Originally from Iowa with a decent chunk of time spent bopping between Minneapolis and Oregon, I love weddings + photography (duh), my nephew, a stiff gin + tonic, propagating too many damn houseplants, and my cats.
