The facility can be leased for community events, musical performances, parties, weddings, and more. The old Amherst Baptist Church was the home of that church's congregation until 2005. Its sanctuary was constructed in 1882, making it the second oldest religious structure still standing in the Town of Amherst. Starting in 2012, a grassroots group took the initiative to save a historic structure in the heart of Amherst, VA, and to re-purpose it as a creative community center. Located in the middle of a vibrant village, the goal was to provide a gathering place for events. The class architecture and details of this circa 1880s historic building is sure to compliment any theme. The antique checkerboard flooring adds a touch of eclectic flair. Lewis and built in 1901. Designated a Virginia Historic Landmark and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Avoca is the home site of Colonel Charles Lynch, Revolutionary War hero. On the of grounds of the Museum, enjoy your private event with the ambiance of the Avoca mansion and the original Revolutionary War era kitchen, as well as 18th century outbuildings. A little bit about me. In 2002, when I was fifteen months old, my parents decided to become missionaries and moved to Uganda and lived there for six months. We moved to Kenya after and lived there for six and a half years. In 2010, I moved to Chile. In 2013 I got interested in taking pictures and it's grown ever since. I moved to the States in 2016 and wanted to start a business on the side a couple of years after. I am a family oriented person and absolutely love spending time with them.
