Travel Note
While we have provided several hotel recommendations below, these are by no means the only places to stay in Colorado Springs! Please see the map above and avoid any hotels or AirBNBs/VRBOs in the area outlined in red. The map also includes the venue location and 2 other heart markers. The heart marker toward the top of the photo is where Whitney's mom lives and the heart marker toward the bottom of the photo is where Zack and Whitney live. For reference, the drive time between the two houses is approximately 30 minutes without traffic. Generally hotels on the west side of the I-25 are safe except through the downtown area, in which case it is better to stay east of the highway. There is another collection of hotels off of Interquest on the north side of town that are all in an up-and-coming area but will take 30-40 min to get to the venue. Feel free to stay up in Woodland Park or Manitou Springs if you want more of a cute mountain town experience. Just know that the drive time to the venue from Woodland Park is about 45 min and from Manitou Springs it is about 30 min. As always, if you have any concerns on locations for AirBNBs/VRBOs, please text the bride or groom! Zack worked as a paramedic in Colorado Springs for many years and knows all the best areas :)
Flight
Located in southeast Colorado Springs, this is the closest airport to the venue and hotels. This regional airport has about 7 gates and food/drink on site. There are regular flights that connect up through Denver with some direct options depending on where you are flying from. Although the flights may be more expensive than flying into/out of Denver, it does save you an hour drive and security is usually a breeze (<10 minutes). Ride share and rental car options available.
Flight
DIA is the largest hub in Colorado with the cheapest and largest variety of flights. It's approximately an hour drive down to Colorado Springs from DIA, sometimes longer depending on traffic. Multiple rental car options available as well as a shuttle that runs at scheduled times and has multiple drop off points in Colorado Springs. Please note that DIA is known for flight delays and long security times. TSA pre-check is very helpful and we recommend checking the bridge security wait times. If you plan on flying out of DIA, we recommend getting there 1.5 to 2 hours early to allow time to get through security and take the tram to your gate, this often means leaving Colorado Springs 3 hours before your flight time.
