Welcome to our marital music festival!

In January 2020, Alex was hired as a DJ at a fitness studio. It was there he met Wynter, and after a couple of months of post-workout conversations about their shared passions for reading and music, Wynter finally worked up the nerve to ask him on a date… in March 2020. Little did she know, NYC was set to lockdown the weekend of their first date for what would become much more than the mayor’s proposed two-week time frame. They rescheduled to several FaceTime dates, and after both getting COVID the first week of lockdown, they formed their own pandemic bubble. That bubble has grown into their life together, filled with many shows at Brooklyn Mirage, brunches in their beloved apartment, hiking up & down mountains all over the country, late night strolls along the Brooklyn Bridge, couples boxing lessons, and hosting game nights with all of their wonderful friends.

At the end of their vacation in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Alex took Wynter down by the ocean to look at the water. He got right to it popping the question, and when Wynter said yes (through A LOT of happy tears) they were cheered on by her best friend and Maid of Honor Angelina, as well as all of the other locals at the overlook!

On June 9th, 2020, Wynter and Alex went on a date on the hottest day of the year in Central Park followed by outdoor dining drinks and snacks. After several hours, a heat-exhausted Wynter blurted out to Alex, “so what are we?!” and the rest is history. We are so excited to wed the day before our anniversary, so that we can spend the first day of our fourth year together beginning our married life. Alex, a percussionist and DJ, has always loved going to music festivals, so naturally when he met Wynter it became a huge part of their lives together. They have also had the privilege of becoming friends with the most amazing DJ coworkers. These factors combined gave Alex and Wynter the bright idea to make their wedding music festival themed, featuring several of their friends as the main acts during the reception! The festival is named ALTERFEST because it’s a portmanteau of their names and a pun on the wedding altar!
