We hope you'll leave some time before or after the festivities to explore Richmond and or the surrounding area. The food scene truly is up and coming, and the history/art scene is fantastic. Below are some of our favorite things to do in town.

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA)

Truly an amazing museum with some fantastic permanent collections and amazing traveling exhibits. Admission is free to see the permanent collection, but recommend purchasing a ticket for the temporary exhibit if interested!

Virginia State Capitol

Take a tour of the Virginia State Capitol, designed by Thomas Jefferson!

Walk through Carytown

Take a walk through Carytown, one of the cutest and trendiest stretches of shops/restaurants in Richmond!

Riverfront Canal Walk

Take a walk or bike ride along the canal - take in some beautiful scenery! Be aware that it will be January, so it may be cold...but being Richmond, it could also be 70 degrees outside!

St. John's Church

Walk around the grounds of this historic church where Patrick Henry delivered his very famous, "Give me liberty or give me death" speech! You might even recognize some other names throughout the grounds!

Scott's Addition Food/Beer Tour

Take a food/beer tour of Scott's Addition, an up and coming Richmond neighborhood with some of the best beer and food in the city!
