Biodynamic farming, an idyllic picnic spot, and delicious wine...what more could you want? Benzinger Winery is only half a mile down the road from Jack London Lodge. It's a favorite spot of Alyssa, Bryon, and Andie Sheets for so many reasons. Pick up a picnic lunch from Glen Ellen Market and then head up to Benzinger to eat your lunch for free on their gorgeous open air patio. If you do decide to bring a picnic there, please note that spots at their picnic tables are first come, first serve and they recommend arriving on the early side of lunchtime during busy summer months. They also do not allow outside alcohol. Check out their tasting room to sample some amazing local wines ($20 for a five-pour tasting), and if you're craving a unique Sonoma wine country experience, reserve a spot in advance on their Biodynamic Tram Tour. It's $30 and includes a four-pour tasting. More info on their tours here: https://www.benziger.com/experience-our-winery/
Conveniently located across the street from the Jack London Lodge, the Glen Ellen Village Market is the quintessential Sonoma gourmet deli. Fully stocked with local foodie treats ("must try's" include apple pie from Kozlowski Farms, and the Mt. Tam Brie from Cowgirl Creamery), Glen Ellen Village Market has a huge selection of fresh deli sandwiches, a gourmet coffee bar, hot bar, olive bar, and cheese station. Grab a picnic lunch and sit outside on their picnic tables with a bottle of wine from their impressive local wine selection, or take your lunch up the road to Benziger Family Winery for an al fresco picnic that screams wine country.
Catty-corner from the Jack London Lodge and adjacent to the Glen Ellen Village Market, Les Pascals is a sunny, delightful little bakery that would be a great spot to enjoy a French pastry and soak in the California sunshine the morning after the wedding!
For a free, one-of-a-kind outdoor experience, check out Jack London State Park in Glen Ellen. Fun fact: Alyssa and Grayson almost got married at the hauntingly beautiful winery ruins located inside the gorgeous hills of Jack London State Park!
The sister winery to Benziger Family Winery, Imagery is also located in Glen Ellen. If you love Italian and Spanish wines and are looking for a lower price point than Benziger, Imagery is a great place to spend an afternoon wine tasting. For larger groups, Imagery will also allow visitors to reserve a picnic table that seats 8 for $50, or they will waive the reservation fee with the purchase of 2 bottles of wine.

Founded in 1973, Chateau St. Jean offers an idyllic setting in Sonoma Valley, where a European-style, 1920s chateau is surrounded by lush gardens, vineyards, and mountains. Enjoy a tasting flight in the main tasting room or an elevated seated tasting in the historic chateau, or purchase wines by the glass or bottle to savor while picnicking on the grounds. For those who like a good challenge, Chateau St. Jean now offers one of the most unique tasting experiences in the area: A Wine Country Escape Room. Guests are welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine before attempting to unlock the “secret of the Chateau” by solving a variety of puzzles and riddles. The reward for escaping the room is a tasty wine and cheese flight.
