How we met

It all started with the click of a button

The question of who messaged who first is still up for dispute even to this day. Whitney saw Jason’s profile and was intrigued. Since he lived about an hour away, she decided to give the ‘Flirt Button’ a try, unaware of what this meant. Apparently, it sent a message that said “Hey ; )” - something Whitney never would have sent on her own! But then Whitney received a message from Jason, and from there, the conversation was easy and fun. Whitney still teases that she would have been out of Jason’s “search area.”

The First Date

A Change of Plans

They have planned to meet at the Lane’s Restaurant the following Wednesday for their first date, where they could have dinner, bowl, and play games. At this point, they were texting daily. When Whitney mentioned the cancelation of her weekly trivia night, they decided to move up their date. Whitney suggested they change things up. Knowing Jason had said how shy he was, she wanted to do something where they could get to know each other. Both then rushed to get ready for their unplanned date. Whitney ran to get her favorite beer after work and grab something quick to eat. Jason picked Whitney up and gave her flowers, which she thought were fake, until Jason mentioned he picked them from his garden. (In Whitney’s defense, they looked perfect.) They went to her favorite beach, where they had her favorite beer, watched the sunset, and talked until the gates were closing. At one point, Jason asked Whitney if she wanted to take a picture. They both love that they have a photo together from their first date

The adventures in between

and a love that grew

Whitney often jokes that before meeting her, Jason lived in a hole because he often would spend much of his time at home or at work. To make up for this, they like to adventure whenever possible. They both love country music - especially country concerts - a great excuse to get dressed up, dance among the crowd, and sing along to some of their favorite songs. They enjoy camping and look forward to their next trip. Though they like to try new campgrounds, they always anxiously await their return to Pawtuckaway State Park in New Hampshire, their favorite site by the water and Tuckaway Grill. Whitney & Jason also enjoy the occasional day trip, whether it be Boston, Plymouth, Martha’s Vineyard, or P-Town. They love spending time with each other and eagerly await the world returning to normal so they can safely adventure again. In the meantime, they love playing board games, cuddling in front of the TV and enjoying all things geeky together.

The Proposal

A day that only comes around once every 4 years

On top of being many things, 2020 was also a leap year. On February 29th, Whitney & Jason were pet sitting her brother's beloved dog Ramboe. Whitney is and always has been a dog lover. Though they look forward to the day they have one of their own, they always jump at any opportunity to have Ramboe. Jason took Ramboe out for a walk, and when they came back in, Jason claimed he was having an issue with the harness. After Whitney assisted with taking it off and placing it on the couch, Jason said I think you missed something (on the harness). Attached was a jewelry box and when Whitney turned around Jason was on one knee. As Whitney excitedly said yes, Ramboe also joined in the excitement jumping all around.

Our Wedding Celebration

The Greatest Adventure is Yet to Come

Whitney & Jason look forward to celebrating the most important day of their lives with you. They have spent a lot of time making this day as special as possible. Some things to note that will have more meaning than you may realize: - The website domain, wjmpacheco.com, is a combination of the two's initials. Jason's initials are JMP, and after they wed, Whitney's will be WJMP. -We will be serving Devil’s Purse as one of our beers, which is the same beer we had on the first date. -There will be a small jar of sand from Craigville Beach, where they had their first date, on each table. - The owner of the Trivia company will be DJing their wedding. Jason became a regular member of their Trivia Team - shout out to Alternative Facts. - Julie, their caterer, is not only a friend but a colleague of Whitney’s. Their friend Sara, who started as Whitney’s former colleague and roommate, will be officiating the wedding. - Check back for more to come!
