It was a dark and stormy night, a weary traveler trudged through cold rain with no destination in mind. When headlights cut through the darkness from the far end of the street, he had no idea who it was. The car stopped short right next to the traveler who was ready for whatever help the universe had sent his way. The driver rolled down the window and said, "Bobby, get in the van!" The traveler decided then and there his only option was to become Bobby. That's how Austin joined the greatest crew of cat burglars that ever was. Bobby's identity took Austin around the world, into danger and a life of luxury few could even imagine. However, one Sunday afternoon at the Museum of the City of New York, Curator WhitneyKate, made the cat burgler victim of a truly despicable crime: she stole his heart. Over the next week, he charmed her with his quick wit, expert timing, and promises of adventure, all deciding factors when he proposed to her the following Sunday, but his stockpile of rare gems certainly didn't hurt his chances. The couple eloped to Vegas and from there departed for parts unknown. But legend says, if you have the opportunity to visit the Museum of the City of New York on Sunday Afternoon, you can still hear the couple's witty repartee eachoing in the corner of the gallery where they met by chance all those years ago. (Nah, we met on Tinder and you probably know the story of our whirlwind first date -- nothing to do with any museums but, it did involve a costume shop, an impromptu road trip, a carnival, and a lot of very clear signs that our meeting was truly something special.)
In true Austin and WK fashion, we didn't intend to get engaged on July 15, 2023. In fact, we'd just started ring shopping in earnest that day. The plan was to round out our wonderful week in Wilmington with a surprise 55th anniversary party for Dianne and Waylon Lynch, hosted by Erin and Dustin Sullivan (no relation to the Boston Sullivans). However, Austin head found the ring and needed to make some important moves. The scene was set, the fountain was bubbling, the violinists were playing 'Don't Stop Believing' and Austin asked Whitney Kate to make this partnership permanent. TL;DR She said, "Yes!"
It was the absolute best day for this couple. If you weren't able to see it in person, the couple has a great video ( and lots of pictures) to show you!
