We Hope You're Able to Join Us!

We are incredibly excited to get to celebrate our wedding in one of our favorite destinations - Portugal! We hope you're able to join us because we would love to celebrate this day with the people who mean the most to us, but we also fully understand that a destination wedding is a huge commitment. We want you all to know that we do not expect that everyone will be able to make the trip, and we completely understand if you are unable to attend (so no pressure!). That said, we truly hope to get to share this experience with you!

For those able to attend...

We are hoping to make the travel experience as easy and affordable as possible for you all! To help us help you, we just ask that you please pay close attention to our wedding website, as well as the email reminders we will be sending out periodically. We will be providing ongoing information regarding flights, accommodations, and travel recommendations as we continue planning. If you ever have any questions or could use help planning your trip, please reach out to either of us! You can email both of us at jwmoronewedding@gmail.com or of course reach out by phone/text.

Passport, passport...get your passport!

Just another friendly reminder :)

If you think you may be able to make the trip (Yay!), we recommend as the first step in travel planning that you make sure your passports are up-to-date and will not expire by May 2024. If you don't already have an up-to-date passport, we recommend you apply for one ASAP - the average turnaround time is 6-9 weeks and many international airlines will ask for your passport information to book flights.

Next Up: Book Flights and Accommodations

Jackie & Weston's Itinerary: Arrival to Lisbon: Wednesday 5/15 Stay in Downtown Lisbon: Wednesday 5/15 - Sunday 5/19 Stay at the Venue: Sunday 5/19 (afternoon) - Tuesday 5/21 (morning) Departure from Lisbon: Tuesday 5/21 Some notes from our experiences: Airlines TAP Air Portugal tends to have the most affordable flights with options to plan an "extended layover" in Portugal en route to other European destinations (GREAT option for those planning to travel to other destinations as part of their trip). Their planes and in-flight service are comfortable and not unlike many other American airlines; however, we do warn that their customer service is not great and can be difficult to deal with if you need to modify/cancel/change your bookings - so best to just be extra careful with your initial booking! Location We think location is the most important consideration as you’re making your decision. Lisbon is a very walkable city, but there’s a ton to see and it’s not tiny (and it’s also very hilly), so we recommend staying somewhere fairly central that will allow you to easily explore the city by foot (which we think is the best way to see Lisbon). Lisbon is broken up into neighborhoods, and we’ll be staying in the neighborhood of Chiado, which is pretty central to some of our favorite parts of the city. We think any of the neighborhoods around there are good options! Hotels, etc. We don’t have specific hotel recommendations, but we’ve generally had good experiences with apartment-style lodging. We’ve found they tend to be even a bit nicer than the hotels at the same price - if you’re willing to live without hotel comforts like maid service and continental breakfast. We tend to have a lot of success with highly rated places on booking.com. More information on accommodations for the wedding events to come! Stay tuned for additional updates and recommendations.
