Garden of the Gods
I took a 1 month vacay to Colorado July 2023. This is one of the places Wes took me to! I LOVED it. God's creation is BEAUTIFUL! You should definitely spend a day hiking here. It's not too elevated, so you're walking on a plain most of the time. :)
Loveland Pass
When I visited July 2023, this is one of the places Wes took me to! This spot is great for those who want to hike with their car or with their legs! (my idea was the latter haha). It is SO beautiful with GREAT views all around. This site can take as long or short as you like!
First and Second Flatirons Loop trailhead
Get to know the iconic Flatirons! A 2.7-mile loop trail near Boulder, Colorado that is considered a challenging route. The best times to visit this trail are April through October so September is perfect! Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas.
Nederland
For those of you that do not know my family has vacation to Netherland Colorado ever since I was a child. There's a lot of really fun stuff to do in this small mountain town outside of Boulder. Lots of hiking!! I've had a lot of great memories in this area and I would encourage you to go too!
Mt Falcon Hiking Trail
If you're looking for an easy trail with a good view, Mt Falcon is the option for you! Wes took me here and I thoroughly enjoyed the trot and the scenery!
South Platte River Trail
If you looking for a long bike ride, that can go from 20 miles to 120 miles this is the trail for you! As you get the opportunity to be outside and be in the wilderness, this is a great place to see the backbone of Colorado. I've ran many miles on this trail and have ridden some of it. Great training runs next to waterfront property. What more could you ask for?
Washington Park
Over the last 4 years I have got into long distance running. This is a park that I run around and it 2.5 around the outside. This is also an amazing family spot and a spot to go and spend an afternoon. This is great for all ages and has a lot of space. You can paddle board or boat in the lakes in the middle of the park.
U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center
Me and Zechariah went here on a trip last year. As we are finishing the 2024 Summer Olympics, this could be a cool afternoon to see how the athletes train when they are getting ready for competing in the olympics!
Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre
Red Rocks is where I proposed to Kayla! A world renown concert venue where there are shows most days. Every morning this must-see place is free and open to the public! Check it out if you have time!
Conifer Community Church
Staying until Sunday and need a Jesus fill? Wes is the Associate and Youth Pastor at CCC, a beloved mountain church! Join the CCC family at the 9am or 10:30am services!
Air Force Academy
A staple of Colorado Springs is the Air Force Academy, where all the cadets are trading to go serve our country. Had many of my students end up at this fine institution. This is also the site of the winter classic a few years ago. I have not personally been there yet, but it is a awesome experience to see all the aviation that happened there.
Coors Brewery Tour
There's not a finer beer in all of the world and this is where it's made. If I had a nickel for every one of these that I've taken down over the years. Well I don't know how much money I'd have, but it would be a lot. I hope that you enjoy. This is the key part of the classic movie smoky and the bandit.
Bear Creek Distillery
This is one of my all time FAVORITE distillery's to visit. If you know me, you know I love a good brewery, winery, cidery, etc. While this is a tap room, it is a GOOD time. Wes took me here on my birthday and while spilling a drink on myself, I still have fond memories!
Snowpack Taproom & Pizzeria
A staple of Conifer, CO! If you have time, it's a MUST stop! Great pizza, great beer, and an all around great time!! Wes and I have A LOT of memories here! One of those memories is our engagement party!
Little Man Ice Cream
I took Kayla here July 2022! Little Man Ice Cream is named after founder Paul Tamburello’s father, Peter Tamburello (nicknamed Little Man). Little Man Ice Cream is Paul’s way of keeping his father’s legacy alive.
Smokin Yard's BBQ
I took Kayla here on an exploration of Colorado. It is one of THE best BBQ spots in Colorado. It is a trip up there, but there are plenty of hikes and other outdoor activities to access in this beautiful mountain town.
Sweet Bloom Coffee Roasters
We haven't been here but we've heard GREAT reviews. Located in Westminster, it's an accessible way to have a morning pastry or an afternoon pick me up!
The Bardo Coffee House
One of my favorite coffee shops I've tried thus far! It is affordable and DELICIOUS! Stop here for a morning cup of Joe to get your day started!
Downtown Evergreen
This is a one stop fits all! A walk around the lake. Fun boutiques, thrift stores and other shops. Yummy restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. All within walking distance! Evergreen is one of my favorite mountain towns!
The North Face Outlets at Castle Rock
Shop till you drop here at Castle Rock's popular outlets! They even have a DISCOUNTED Lululemon! If you have time to make a trip here, do it! It's an adventure that Wes and I enjoyed together! <3
Colorado Mills
Another opportunity to shop! This is one of the NICEST local malls. It's got all the options and it's a great way to get some retail therapy in during your stay here! :)
