Brandon and Andrea laid eyes on each other for the first time while out with friends at The Variety Club in East Peoria. Andrea had stopped to have "just one" with her Friday night happy hour group (The OG teacher group: Amanda, Anissa, & Julie) when Brandon showed up with his buddy, Matt, who is married to Anissa. The guys played pool while the girls had a drink at the bar and they all claimed they were going to call it an early night. Then everyone had a second wind and they decided to bar hop. Before leaving the Variety Club, Anissa said, "You know who's single?!" If looks could kill, Anissa would be dead from the look Andrea snapped at her. She responded with, "Don't do that to me right now." In all the years Andrea and Anissa had been friends, she'd never tried to set her up. It's also odd that Andrea and Brandon had never met because they'd both been friends with Anissa and Matt for a while. Apparently God knew they were both finally ready for one another! By the second bar, Anissa was digging for more info and dropping hints to Brandon and Andrea. Both of them were cordial and enjoyed the night out with their friends. By the time they were at the last bar (The Basket Case), Andrea and Brandon had some nonverbal flirting happening. When it was time to head home, everyone was ready to get in an Uber and head back across the river. Andrea lived close by, so she was heading home on her own. She opened her door and looked up and there's Brandon at her passenger side door. They had discussed getting food before everyone decided they were too tired, but Brandon still claims to this day that his thought was, "I'm going with the hot blonde." LOL! So, the two of them headed to Steak N' Shake and they finally had time to just the two of them. They clicked INSTANTLY and Andrea's friends will tell you that she was texting them from the bathroom that night freaking out about this new guy she'd met. They spent all night talking and laughing and Andrea finally took Brandon back to his car in the wee hours of the morning. Within 8 minutes, Brandon had texted Andrea about going on a date. On October 31, 2017, they officially went on their first date....and the rest is truly history!
