The Kaaterskill Falls is the highest cascading waterfall in New York State. Dropping in two tiers over 260 feet, the falls have been one of the region's most popular destinations for centuries. The hike is a short 1.4 mile roundtrip and let's hikers climb high enough to view the Hudson River Valley as it snakes below.
If you're up for a 45 minute drive, you can head south to Woodstock and check out Cooper Lake - the largest natural lake in all of the Catskills. While you're there - you can explore some incredible Woodstock art galleries & shops.
This 26-mile Rails to Trails project offers a hard packed surface for hiking, biking, and running. It features a gentle grade with only a 400-foot change in elevation for the entire length. Designated parking is available in Stamford at the historic Depot at the intersection of Railroad Avenue and South Street. There is also a parking lot north of Route 10, just east of Bloomville. Additional parking is found at Route 30 and Ferris Hill just south of Grand Gorge!

Want to make a splash? How about some whitewater tubing! For over 30 years, Town Tinker Tubing has provided whitewater equipment for adrenaline seekers in the Catskills. This is not a lazy river ride... you'll be tubing down whitewater which means your ride will come across some rapids. Someone please do this, we beg of you.
Up for a drive north? Checkout Howe - a prehistoric cavern 6,000,000 years in the making. You don't have to be a serious caver to appreciate the geology. Your specially trained tour guide will help you navigate the cave and teach you about the magnificent limestone stalagmites and the tremendous conservation effort underway to protect the Caverns.
