It was the first week of the Spring Semester at Arizona State University. I headed to the first day of papermaking class early and found a seat among the circle of tables. The class size was small, and the seats filled up. About 2 minutes after class started a very sweet-looking guy walked in and sat in the only open seat, right next to me. As cheesy as it sounds, I knew that day he was going to stick around my life. We quickly became best friends in this class, bonding over our love for art, my newly adopted cat, Sage, having birthdays 2 days apart, and a love for good food! Did I mention, he's a great cook?

When I first saw Chloe in our papermaking class, I felt drawn to her. I remember her wearing a pink 1975 hat with purple hair sticking out the bottom, a gray and black crop top, and a black skirt with Chuck Taylor shoes on. I couldn't help but think to myself how attractive she was. We spent a lot of time together, and being the only two willing/able to stay after class to clean up, became friends instantly. I began persuing her, and telling my family BEFORE we even dated that she was the one. After the semester wrapped up, I started a job at a sandwich shop, and we spent almost every day together. I would use my free employee sandwiches and bread to court her, and on May 25th, 2018, I asked her to be my girlfriend. Since then we've been inseparable. We've created art, started a small little business, raised our cats, and moved across the country together. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her.

Sam: Since the moment I asked Chloe to be my girlfriend, I knew I wanted to Marry her. But I chose to wait 5 YEARS to ask the question. We had our first real vacation planned in August 2023, staying in my uncle's beach house in the heart of Provincetown for a full week. I knew I couldn't pass up this seemingly perfect opportunity. She had chosen which ring she wanted, and it was to arrive just in time for our trip. Everyone knew what I was planning but her, so when I finally asked on August 22nd, she was definitely surprised. And of course, she said yes, and I was surprised to learn she had gotten a ring for me, and this whole time was waiting for me to ask! Chloe: After finally feeling settled in Massachusetts, a whopping 3 years after moving and 5 years of dating, we decided to take up Doug and George's invitation to visit them at their vacation home in Provincetown, MA - on the very tip of Cape Cod. This was our first real vacation together and it was so lovely of Sam's Uncles to have us at their beautiful house! This trip was full of fun, food, and relaxing days at the beach. Sam popped the question after an incredible ocean-side, charcuterie lunch. Of course, I was prepared for this because I also had a ring for Sam!
