Our favorite coffee shop in Boise. We go here almost every Sunday after mass for a little coffee date. They have the best coffee and the best little goodies! *This place DOES NOT MISS. We can’t stress enough just how amazing everything is here. Sandwiches, baked goods, coffee… Certified banger :)*
In our opinion, one of the best restaurants in Boise. Their pizza is SO good, their star cookies are SO yummy, and the overall vibes are the best. Leigha's family loves to go here whenever they are in town visiting. It's also owned by the same people who run Certified (our favorite coffee shop).
One of our favorite places to walk through, grab some coffee or a beer, and enjoy people watching! A historic neighborhood's local downtown area, with easy access to Camelsback Park up the street and hiking in the Boise foothills.
Get a taste of what downtown Boise has to offer... this eclectic, pedestrian-only street runs through the middle of downtown and is home to many restaurants, bars, and shops to check out! *Side note: Freak Alley is the northwest's largest open-air, multi-artist mural gallery, and is just off of 8th Street. Fun to look at but definitely weird!
Just 35 minutes from downtown Boise, is our local ski resort! Although you won't find any fresh pow in September, the non-profit mountain resort offers plenty to do in the late summer months. From a mountain coaster, to scenic chair-lifts, to even a high ropes challenge course; escape to the pine trees for an afternoon and enjoy the diversity of the Boise area.
We walked around the Greenbelt on one of our first dates (the walk Thomas mentions in our story). The Greenbelt is a walking path/bike path that runs along the Boise River. It goes past a few parks and is covered by trees...very beautiful and worth the walk.
I mean since you are in the capitol city of Idaho, why not check out the capital building. It's just a few blocks away from the Cathedral we will be getting married at and a few blocks from downtown Boise.
Leigha graduated from Boise State and would highly recommend walking around campus. You can get to the University right off the Greenbelt. Also go peek at the Blue Turf!
If you’re in town for more than just the weekend, take a quick drive up ID-55 and check out the South Fork of the Payette River! Known for its world-class rapids further up stream, the South Fork has plenty of spots off of the main highway to spend an hour or a half-day, playing in the water or soaking up some sun and fresh- pine tree air!
