Why Puerto Rico?

Answer

We knew a destination wedding was for us. We wanted to say "I do" in a place that we love and know that our guests will enjoy. Ryan has made countless trips to Puerto Rico in search of waves to surf, while Katie has fallen in love with the island's breathtaking beaches, laid-back lifestyle and endless fun things to do.

How do I RSVP?

When will I make my meal selection?

Answer

In early October, please anticipate a call from our wedding coordinator to confirm your meal choice. It will come from a Puerto Rican number. They will leave a message if they miss you.

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our wedding is Formal/Black-Tie Optional: Suits, Tuxes & Long Dresses welcome. Light color suits are fine as we know it’s a tropical place. **Note, our wedding venue is NOT on the beach and the majority of the event will take place in an air-conditioned space.

Is there transportation from the hotel to the venue?

Answer

Yes! We will have shuttles to and from The Fairmont to take guests to the venue (about a 15 min ride). Please refer to the Travel tab for pick-up and drop-off schedule.

Can we walk to any food options or groceries?

Answer

Yes! Just a short walk from the hotel property you’ll find a few options for a quick breakfast as well as a supermarket, liquor store and pharmacy. There is also a Starbucks and a convenience store located in the hotel Shops hall. -Supermercado Pueblo and Liquor Store -Farmacia Caridad -Las Canaria’s or Piu Bello for breakfast sandwiches, açaí bowls and more

Looking for places to eat lunch or dinner, where should I go?

We've included several restaurant recommendations in Old San Juan (about a 15 minute Uber from hotel) and Condado (10 mins from hotel) in the "Things to Do" page of this website. There are a few fantastic restaurants on the Fairmont Hotel property as well that you can reserve now if you'd prefer to stay on site: https://www.elsanjuanhotel.com/dine

Is there a time difference?

Answer

Puerto Rico does not observe Daylight Savings, so we will be 1 hour ahead of EST while we are in PR for the wedding weekend.

Where to stay?

Answer

We strongly suggest all guests stay at the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel and have secured a discounted room block at this property. We've selected this hotel for it's beautiful accommodations and convenient location to our wedding venue, the airport and historic Old San Juan. There are additional nearby hotels or Airbnbs if you want to stay elsewhere, but please refer to the map so you're able to join our Welcome Event and get on our wedding shuttles.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding and weekend events will be adults-only affairs. We hope you understand and can enjoy a fun and relaxing stay.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

All invited guests will be specifically named on the invitation. Thank you so much for understanding!

I have a food allergy or dietary restriction, can I make a special request?

Answer

Absolutely! There will be an option for letting us know about food preferences and allergies when our coordinator confirms your attendance in early October.
