How It All Began...

A no, and then a forever yes.

We both showed up to a grad school class on a cold Tuesday (or maybe Thursday?) evening at Missouri State University in January 2017. Our professor put us in a reading group together, where we soon learned we were more alike than we had thought. That summer, we spent our weekdays together in our cohort class for the Master of Arts in Teaching program; we talked philosophy, learned about each other's hobbies, and stayed at the Meyer Library for far too many hours working on papers and unit plans with our friends. "Dream Team!" we proclaimed with a high five in the hallway at Siceluff Hall, and the wheels were turning. Toward the end of that summer class, Andrew asked Tabitha to go on a date. Something akin to "no, thank you; let's be friends," was her answer. So we hung out some more. We went to see Newsies (the musical) at the movies; Andrew cried, and Tabitha figured out that he's really a sentimental guy. Tabitha's dryer broke, and after trying her best to fix it herself (as she believed she could), she asked Andrew to come help (because she really couldn't do it alone). He did. We found more excuses to see each other over the next week (fixing some more minor issues with the dryer, having dinner and watching Billy Elliot- and more tears), and then Tabitha asked Andrew out this time. This was it. Neither of us knew if it was really a date, but it was. We spent the evening at That Lebanese Place on C-Street, split the check, and that's where it all began. We've been equal partners through these past four years; we've grown together through several jobs, three cities, one pandemic, three cats, one dog, and many road trips. Now we're keeping this good thing going and we're finally gettin' married! We hope you'll join us in this exciting time; if you're reading this, you've been a part of our story and we're so excited to celebrate with you!
