Lazy J Ranch Campsite

We rented out the entire campsite adjacent to the wedding venue property for 2 nights, 8/16 and 8/17. You are welcome to camp here free of charge on one or both of these nights. When the wedding venue closes, we plan on walking over to the campsite, enjoying a fire, and camping with any part of the group who is 21+ and interested in joining. If you plan on camping, please reach out to Mackenzie or Steve so we can have a rough count of how many tents, cars, or RVs there will be on the site for the host's count. We would recommend setting up your tent, RV, or car any time Friday or Saturday prior to the start of the wedding and walking over to the wedding venue so you don't have to worry about driving, your car, or setting up a tent in the evening. Please plan to bring your own camping gear if you are interested. There are many options in Alaska for camping gear rentals to consider so you don't have to fly with them. Book these in advance, if you are able. Some that we would recommend include: APU gear rentals REI Alaska Outdoor Gear Rentals Rain is a possibility so ensure that you have a tent with a rainfly or a car that can fit you in it. We would also recommend renting camping chairs to enjoy the fire on. For those new to camping, a brief checklist that will get you through one night includes: tent, tarp or ground cover if raining, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, and a camp chair. We are close enough to town and there are cabins on site so extras such as camping stoves or cookware are unnecessary. Please reach out with any questions on camping or gear.

Land's End Resort

We have discount code available that is valid for 3 nights, 8/15/24, 8/16/24, and 8/17/24. The discount code is "French", which can be used to book online or over the phone. If you book outside of these dates, you will have to call the hotel to book. The code is not valid for the Beachfront Lodges or Beachfront Lodge Rooms. The hotel recommends booking by January or February as they tend to book out a lot of the room options in the Spring and late Winter.

Shuttle

Shuttle To/From Venue

August 17, 2024 1:00 pm - 10:30 pm

We will offer a shuttle running between the Land's End Resort and the wedding venue at AK Diamond J Ranch. The road from Homer to the venue is scenic but small, winding and remote. If you plan on drinking at all, we would appreciate if you did not drive. We have tried to provide several options to help accommodate this-- you can opt to join us camping in the adjacent property to the venue following the wedding (see Lazy J Ranch Campsite) or take our shuttles to and from the property. It is roughly a 40 minute drive from the hotel to the venue. Shuttle options in Homer are extremely limited, but we will have one 27-seat bus available to go to the venue and will have two 27-seat busses available for the return in the evening. The shuttles can take multiple trips and will be going back and forth between the venue and the Land's End Resort. In the evening only, we will also add a stop at the campsite (although it is only about 300 yards away and you can walk too). Additional stops may be able to be accommodated, please reach out to Mackenzie for specific questions on stops. If you do opt to drive to the venue, there is plenty of parking available on site. It is ok to drive to the venue and take the shuttle back to town. However, you will have to pick up your car the next day prior to 9AM to prevent it from getting towed if you do not drive home in the evening. Ubers are also available in Homer, although limited in quantity.
