All of our plans for the week are all listed in the "Week of Schedule" tab. You're invited to join for all of the events we have listed there if you are able! There's no shortage of things to do in Alaska and our itinerary just scratches the surface. Here are suggestions for things we think you would enjoy in the areas we will be passing through on the way to Homer, in addition to our dining and lodging recommendations for each stop along the way.

Anchorage

Anchorage, AK

Things to do: Explore Kincaid Park Hike up one of the peaks in the Front Range of the Chugach Kayak or paddle board at Eklutna Lake (1 hr North) Walk or bike the Coastal Trail Visit the Anchorage Museum Where to eat: Moose's Tooth South (recommend reservations) Midnight Sun Brewing Snow City (breakfast, reserve a table) Spenard Roadhouse Fire Island Bakery Where to stay: There's a lot of hotels in Anchorage. You've got this one!

Girdwood

Girdwood, AK

Things to do: Stop at all the pretty spots on the highway on the way to Girdwood Visit Crow Creek Mine Hike the Winner Creek trail (easier) Hike up Bird Ridge or Rainbow Peak (harder) Tour the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center Walk up to Portage Glacier nearby Visit the Alyeska Nordic Spa (but join us if you do, it's part of our itinerary!) Where to eat: The Bake Shop Jack Sprat Double Musky Girdwood Brewing Where to Stay: The Alyeska Hotel is here, but in the summer months the prices unfortunately doubled. Go for it if you want! That being said, we would recommend an Airbnb if you are joining us in Girdwood. Let us know if you're planning for this night and we will try to help coordinate groups to help with costs.

Seward

City of Seward, AK

Things to do: Exit Glacier Hike - join our group when we go! Glacier Cruise- consider joining our group on a glacier cruise out of Whittier if that fits your schedule instead Hike Mt. Marathon or surrounding peaks Visit the Alaska Sea Life Center Explore the city, shops, and galleries Halibut Fishing Charter Kayak or Paddleboard in Resurrection Bay Where to eat: The Cookery Seward Brewing Company Resurrection Roadhouse Gold Rush Bistro Woody's Thai Kitchen Where to stay: Seward Windsong Lodge Breeze Inn Hotel Seward Airbnbs Waterfront camping

Cooper Landing

Cooper Landing, AK

These are not necessarily items limited to Cooper Landing, but more broadly things to do, places to eat, and places to stay on the central region of the Kenai Peninsula. Things to do: Russian Falls Hike - 2 miles Summit Creek Trail- 8 miles Hike or Bike Johnson's Pass Trail- 22 miles Salmon fishing - there are several charter companies available Rafting on the Kenai River- several tour companies available Where to stay: Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge Camping Russian River Campground Camping Hidden Lake Campground *If camping, plan to book a site 6 months in advance. They book out, especially in salmon fishing season

Homer

Homer, AK

Things to do: Explore the coast Explore the shops and galleries on the Homer Spit Walk around the boat docks Ferry to Seldovia- consider joining us on Friday! Hiking in Kachemek Bay State Park Halibut or rockfish fishing charter Visit the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center Where to eat: Fat Olive's The Kannery A Bus Named Sue grab a drink at Salty Dawg Saloon Where to stay: Lazy J Ranch Campsite- join us camping 8/16 and/or following the wedding, 8/17! Land's End Resort- use discount code "French". Our shuttle will pick up and drop off here. Many Airbnb options in the area
