Ben Martin, not to be confused with Benjamin Franklin, is one of Austin's oldest and best friends. Growing up in Visalia together, they fostered a friendship that not even distance or differing media preferences could tear apart. Ben is a Divine Lawyer (with his credential in MDiv and soon-to-be JD...please don't take offense at this joke) so be sure to call him up if you find your self in a sticky situation. Kelly Marlowe

Kelly and Sophia have known each other since 2005 when they were kindergartners. It was not until they moved into youth group that their friendship started to truly blossom. Ever since, they have been inseparable (besides those brief 4 years of college). Cierra was one of Sophia's first friends in college where they quickly grew close and eventually roomed together their senior year. She was there for the beginning of Sophia and Austin's relationship, worked as a worship intern alongside them both, and continues to be one of their closest friends! Aaron met Sophia at summer camp while she was still in high school before he became besties with Austin. While it took Aaron and Austin a little bit to warm up to each other, all three of them have been fast friends since. Sophia and Austin met David through Cierra when they started dating. After moving down to San Diego from San Jose to get married to the wonderful Cierra and live here together, David became a good friend of Austin and Sophia. Morgan Yoshida

Morgan was the same major as Sophia in college so they had many classes together but did not begin to really be friends until 2019 when they worship interned together along with Austin. There, Sophia and Austin got to watch Morgan's own romance and love story bloom with one of their good friend Aaron and have had the privilege of being very good friends to this day. A: I have a memory of being a camp leader and late at night coming across some other leaders walking to their cabin. We ended up having a cheese ball fight in the dark. Such a fun memory!

Kathy Lee (aka Professor, Masters, RD, Worship Leader, Besite, Baller, and the list goes on) is quite an extraordinary human and incredible friend to both Sophia and Austin. Sophia actually met Kathy while Sophia was a high school student and Kathy was one of her counselors. Once Sophia got to PLNU, they got put on the same SMT where it all went down. Chris and Austin had an immediate connection their freshman year. Ever since, they have journeyed through life together, supporting each other along the way by means of sarcasm and passive love. As of recently, they have had to do their relationship long distance after Chris and his wife Katie moved to Japan. Daniel is also one of Austin's oldest friends (emphasis on oldest) and at one point was even his Youth Pastor! Daniel actually recently became a father with his lovely wife Hannah and he is already one of the best dads ever (thanks to fathering Austin and Ben). Let's get to know Daniel! A: Too many to count, especially involving Austin and Ben Martin. The non-spiritual moments would include: Singing smash mouth in the (separate) showers with Hudson Knox, Austin, and Ben. When Danny Martinez’s older brother brought an Xbox to camp and the counselors played FIFA all night. When Ben and I snuck away and went and watched the USA men’s soccer team beat Ghana on a last second goal in the World Cup. When Austin found out my grandfather’s real first name. Watching Austin get a girls phone number for the first time (circa 2015).

Codi is the oldest sister to Sophia and the Starner family. She is an incredible dancer, a really cool nanny, and a pretty rad family member. Codi has always been such a steady presence in Sophia's life and Sophia is glad that they've only gotten closer as they've gotten older. Be sure to catch her sick moves on the dance floor. Sophia and Austin had the absolute honor and privilege of being worship interns with Miss Kassy Fitzpatrick as well as be on separate SMTs with her. From 12 hour road trips to stinky campers, both Austin and Sophia bonded quickly with Kassy and get to call her a good friend to this day. Let's get to know Kassy! A: Too many to narrow down… but one of them has to be the cabin of WILD Junior high girls that Cierra and I had the pleasure of counseling one summer. Day 1- walking into an absolutely WRECKED cabin. Day 2- being completely exhausted + locking the girls out to take naps while Cierra fake snored for 20 minutes to get them to stop screaming + go away.

Luc is a newer friend for both Sophia and Austin but is one they very much love and cherish. Sophia first really got to know Luc her Senior year at PLNU and they got the chance to do SMT together that summer. After long cargo van rides and way too early of mornings, Luc and Sophia became the best of buds which Austin eventually joined as well. Very early on in their relationship, they made a trek all the way up to Seattle and back. From that trip onward, their friendship only grew.
