The Wedding Website of Shelley Marie Berger and Jonathan Bruce Macleod
The wedding is located at Pema Osel Ling, a beautiful 100 acre property in the redwood forests of Santa Cruz. Pema Osel Ling is run by the Vajrayana Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the Tibetan Buddhist ideals of peace and compassion and to support the preservation of Tibetan art and culture. All proceeds of the wedding fees go to supporting these goals.

Flight

San Jose

San Jose (SJO) is the closest large airport, about 70 minutes away. You also can fly into San Francisco (SFO), which is 2 hours away. The location is in the woods, which means there is no public transportation to the venue. We suggest a car, or carpooling with others.

Travel Note

Amphitheater of the Redwoods at Pema Osel Ling 2013 Eureka Canyon Road Corralitos, CA 95076

DIRECTIONS We are located about 2 hours south of San Francisco, 35 minutes from Santa Cruz and about an hour from both Monterey and San Jose. We recommend that you print the following directions and bring these when visiting. Highland Drive: We do not recommend taking Highland Drive (via the Summit Road) to Pema Osel Ling as Highland Drive is one lane in three places due to land slides. Directions From The North WARNING: Please DO NOT follow Google Maps, your GPS, or MapQuest directions that take you to Highland Way via Summit Road. Highland Way via Summit Road off of Highway 17 is very remote, curvy and can take longer than if you take Highway 1 South from Santa Cruz. From the East Bay, San Jose or San Francisco: Drive to Santa Cruz and then follow the directions from Santa Cruz. Head south on Highway 1. Take the Freedom Boulevard exit and go left over the freeway. After 5 miles, you will come to a stop sign where you will make a left on Corralitos Road. Follow Corralitos Road for 2 miles. At the four-way stop sign the road becomes Eureka Canyon. Go straight through the stop sign onto Eureka Canyon Road and continue for 6.7 miles. Pema Osel Ling is on the left side, with a big blue sign posted at the entrance. Continue up driveway, then veer right at the welcome sign for parking. Directions From the South From Monterey (Google Map of this route): Head north on Highway 1. Take the Airport Boulevard Exit. At the stop light on Airport and Freedom Blvd., turn left and stay left onto Freedom Boulevard, follow it for a couple of miles to the next stop sign. At the stop sign, make a right onto Corralitos Road.

Lodging

The venue is an active Tibetan temple and retreat, so the housing does reflect this. Every room doesn't have a bathroom, for example, and many of the rooms are only walkable via a forest path. If this doesn't sound great to you, we understand as well! We want everyone to be comfortable. There are also hotel rooms and Airbnbs locally as well, we are happy to provide suggestions to you. You will see one below. They are located around 30 minutes away, and the road is quite twisty. We will be working on transportation for offsite lodging as soon as we get the RSVPs in. 🏨🏠🛋️🖼️🥘There are 2 multi room houses with kitchens onsite. 🏠🏠There are 2 tiny homes with an outdoor shared outhouse bathroom. 🚌🚍there are 2 camping sites with Hookups 🏕️🏕️🏕️🏕️ room for 20 tents as well. We encourage, if possible, to bunk up with others so we can have as many people as possible on site. If you have preferences, just tell us in your RSVPs/text us and we will see what we can reasonably accommodate!

Shuttle

Wedding Shuttle

March 23, 2024 2:15 pm - 11:00 pm

TBD: we will have a shuttle a few times in the night for arrival and departures to the lodging in the nearby town. We don’t want anyone to drive the winding mountain roads! We likely will have the pickup be near or at the Seacliff Inn, which is our suggested hotel. It is listed below!

Hotel

Seacliff Inn Aptos, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

7500 Old Dominion Court, Aptos, CA 95003

This hotel is a good start, and likely will be the closest hotel location to the venue.
