TRAVEL LOGISTICS OVERVIEW

Arriving by Air You can fly into Denver International Airport (DIA) or Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE), and we’ve included information about both below. If you’re planning on renting a car, we recommend flying into DIA because the drive to Vail is absolutely gorgeous. If you’re not renting a car, you can still fly into Denver and catch a ride with Epic Mountain Express or another ground transportation provider (see Ground Transportation To/From Airport). DIA (www.flydenver.com) Vail is located approximately 100 miles west from Denver and about 2 hours from DIA. All major airlines service the DIA daily, including: United Airlines www.united.com American Airlines www.aa.com Delta Airlines www.delta.com Southwest Airlines www.southwest.com Frontier Airlines www.frontierairlines.com EGE www.flyvail.com Conveniently located 35 miles west of Vail, two major carriers provide service to this airport on a seasonal basis: United Airlines www.united.com American Airlines www.aa.com Ground Transportation To/From DIA and Eagle County Regional Airport Epic Mountain Express (EME) provides transportation directly to your hotel in Vail from the Denver International Airport. EME is a very professional and reliable shuttle service and a great option for those who do not need a car while visiting Colorado. For shuttle reservations and information, use the link https://www.epicmountainexpress.com/. You may also call 970.754.7433. Other local options once in Vail include: High Mountain Taxi And Ride Taxi Provides service between EGE and Vail. We do not recommend trying to take a taxi from DIA! This is best within the Vail Valley/Eagle County. High Mountain Taxi - 800.524.5555 Ride Taxi - 970.949.1111 Car Rentals All major car rental companies are represented at DIA. Many car rental companies are represented at EGE as well. Uber / Lyft is not a common option yet in Vail. Private cars or Rental cars are the most prevalent options.

VAIL OVERVIEW

PREPARING FOR THE TRIP Vail’s slogan is “VAIL - Like Nothing on Earth”, and believe us, we think that’s true. We want you to enjoy every second of your stay! Here are some recommendations when preparing for your trip. High Altitude Vail is more than 8,000 feet above sea level and guests may struggle with altitude sickness. Altitude sickness can hit anyone regardless of physical condition or age. The most common symptoms include: headache, dizziness and nausea, fatigue, shortness of breath, loss of appetite, disturbed sleep. Staying hydrated is essential! We also recommend enjoy some healthy sugars and carbohydrates during the first day or two of your stay. We promise this will help as well! If you can, consider arriving early to give yourself time to adjust. We usually feel back to normal after 24 hours have passed. Also, please note that alcohol is more potent at high altitudes. Don’t find out the hard way! When drinking, we recommend you alternate between a drink and a glass of water. One drink here = two drinks there! Weather Before your trip, we recommend checking the weather forecast for Vail, Colorado (zip code 81658) at www.weather.com. Colorado has more than 300 days of sunshine each year, so we are hopeful for a beautiful, sunny wedding weekend, but the weather is often unpredictable and can quickly change in the mountains. The temperature during the day may reach up to 80 degrees or even warmer, but nights on the mountain can get quite chilly (40-50 degrees). At 10,000 feet, the top of Vail mountain, exposure to the sun is 40% greater than it is at sea level. Sunscreen (at least SPF 30) is recommended for all exposed skin, particularly the face, lips and neck. Be certain to protect your eyes with sunglasses. You will find Vail to be an arid climate, so hand lotion and lip balm are essential.

WEDDING DAY TRAVEL LOGISTICS

If you are staying at the four seasons, there will be a shuttle to and from the Four Seasons Hotel to the Vail Nordic Center for the ceremony and reception. If you are driving a private vehicle, you will likely need to uber to the ceremony/reception location since there minimal parking spaces, which will be used for our awesome vendors :)
