Piney River Ranch
Piney River Ranch is situated 12 miles from Vail. Visitors can enjoy hiking (a roughly 3-hour trek to a waterfall), canoeing, paddleboarding, horseback riding, fishing, and relaxing, along with dining options at their restaurant. Expect to see vibrant fall foliage during this season. However, be aware that the route includes a rugged dirt road with its unique challenges, such as potholes and steep gradients. This journey might not suit everyone, and the 12-mile drive typically takes about an hour. It's advisable to check their website in advance to ensure you don't need a reservation for your preferred activity.
Vail Gondola
Enjoy breathtaking views while the gondola whisks you up above 10,000ft. Purchase your scenic gondola ticket in advance on their website (recommended) or visit the ticket office in Lionshead or Vail Village. Gondola One (#1) and Eagle Bahn Gondola (#19) are operating from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM on Friday, Saturday and Sunday
