Travel Note

The "Northshore"

For those unfamiliar with New Orleans geography, the wedding venue will be on the Northshore, which is across Lake Pontchartrain from the city of New Orleans. If you're coming from out of town, you will probably prefer to book a hotel in the Northshore, rather than NOLA. This includes cities like Covington, Mandeville, and Madisonville. If you choose to stay in New Orleans, just keep in mind that the Causeway (the 24 mile bridge that connects NOLA to the Northshore) is a toll road. You won't have to pay a toll when you cross to the Northshore, but you will have to pay a toll (~ $7) when you leave the Northshore. If you are flying in but wanting to stay in New Orleans, rather than the Northshore, we highly recommend renting a car instead of relying on Uber/taxi. Trust us, you'll save a lot of money this way.
