BWI is a great airport to fly into as well. However, it's in Baltimore which is a 45-minute drive to downtown DC. You can also take the MARC Train (approx $6) or Amtrak (approx $15) to Union Station and then ride share, taxi, metro to your hotel.

For travels flying from overseas or across the country, this is also an option for you! IAD is about 45-60 minutes away depending on traffic. You can take the Metro to downtown DC then ride share to your hotel. Ride share/taxi from IAD is approx $45. Metrorail to Washington Dulles is now closer than ever. With direct service from Dulles Airport to Metro's Silver Line, the Silver Line Express Bus provides a convenient, economical connection (approx $5) between Dulles' Terminal and the Wiehle-Reston East Metrorail Station on Metrotrail's Silver Line. Travel Note
Taxis are always available in Downtown D.C. but it's very helpful to use Lyft to get around. Lyft Line (cheaper ride share option) is even better.
Travel Note
Taxis are always available in Downtown D.C. but it's very helpful to use Uber to get around. Uber Pool (cheaper ride share option) is even better.
Travel Note
If you will be driving to D.C. or renting a car and riding around the city, PLEASE NOTE THE SPEED TRAPS. We don't want families to get caught going 11 miles over the speed limit and get an $100 ticket (yes, you read that right). Mind the signs!
Train
The Metro is one of the most convenient ways to get around D.C. - plus it's fun! You can buy Metro cards at any station.

If you are driving to DC and want to park in a garage not connected to your hotel, you can download the Spot Hero app for discount prices!
