We can't wait to celebrate with you!

We met online in the Spring of 2018. Mathias took an interest in Sara's pictures of cats, and his first message was to ask their names, which was a sign to Sara that this guy was definitely at least first-date material. Our first date was a long time coming as Sara had several travel plans coming up, but after about a month of chatting online, we got together over breakfast at Panera Bread in Fremont and sat and talked for almost four hours. It was a really lovely time and we shared the nicest hug in the parking lot after our date. Sara couldn't even wait to get home before texting Mathias about getting together again soon.

Roughly a month before the first pandemic lockdown, we signed a lease on our first place together - our current home in San Jose. Everything was going great, we were both packing up our own homes and getting ready for the big move, when... March 2020 hit. We were both instructed to work from home until further notice, so two weeks before our move-in date, Mathias packed up his essentials and came over to Sara's studio, and we crashed together until we were able to pick up our UHaul. We went from spending a couple days a week together to being around one another 24/7/365, and we wouldn't have had it any other way.

Mathias has been very encouraging of Sara's desires to get back into music and singing, and so when Sara had booked an appointment to get some headshots taken with a local photographer, Mathias jumped at the chance to reach out to the photographer behind Sara's back to plan our engagement. When the photographer asked Sara why she loves Mathias, Sara said that Mathias is kind, creative, and incredibly thoughtful. When asked the same question about Sara, Mathias said that he always feels like he can be himself around Sara, whether that means being silly, cute, or gross - and then got down on his knee, and pulled the ring box out of a pocket in his socks!
