Jamie had been with SEIU for ten years and was Chief of Staff; Robyn was organizing on a union health care campaign They connected over their shared love of coffee and interest in the world and their young families–Jamie had a one year old at home and Robyn had an infant on her chest. Neither could have predicted that five years later they would find each other again and discover that they had so much more to share. Since their first official date–again over coffee, though this time at Loring Park–Jamie and Robyn have been quite inseparable (sometimes, almost certainly to the exasperation of friends and family). In the beginning, long hours of talking and texting revealed hopes, dreams, and fears. But those conversations quickly evolved into planning dinners, weekends, and trips together, and then planning a life together with their four children. Life is more wild and wonderful together than either of them could have imagined apart.
Early on, Robyn and Jamie and the girls spent a lot of time running and playing on Raspberry Island–across from the first apartment they shared So they are excited to invite friends and family to witness their union in this place with deep meaning and great memories. The ceremony will be held at 4:00 pm in the garden next to the Minnesota Boat Club, and will be followed immediately by a cocktail hour, dinner, and a reception–all in the Boathouse.
