We met on the very first day of school our freshman year of college in Dr. Isenhour's OBU Connections class. We didn't remember each other. Then, we had World Literature with Dr. Doug Sondheim sophomore year. We didn't remember each other after that either. We started going to Adam Wheat's Sunday night home group together and didn't speak to each other for years. Caleb was an accounting and business double major and Amy was a music and theatre double major, so our paths almost never crossed except for those occasional Sundays. Caleb started working in the OBU theatre shop August 2018 and Amy had two shows to stage manage that fall semester. The two of us had to talk to each other and work together a lot on those productions. We decided to be friends, agreed to hang out once those productions were over, and then things quickly got romantic from there!
After hanging out a few times and constant texting, Caleb and Amy decided to do the 36 Questions experiment on November 15 after strike of a show. After hours of learning about each other and getting close emotionally, our night ended in a kiss. We spent the entire weekend together and November 17, we decided to be boyfriend and girlfriend! Within a week of dating, we knew someday we were going to get married.
We knew we were going to get engaged before it happened. We were going to wait on getting Amy's ring, but in the meantime she had ordered silicone rings for when we went hiking or traveling (there was a sale, we thought we might as well). They came in the mail and we tried them on for size. We didn't want to take them off. Amy: "Can we just be engaged now?" Caleb: "Yeah!" Amy: "Wait, really?" Caleb: "Yeah, if you wanna be! Do you wanna be?" Amy: "Yeah! Do you wanna be?" Caleb: "Yeah!" Amy: "Okay then, we're engaged now!"
