FAQs

We have decided to keep our ceremony and reception adults only, we hope you understand.
Question

Is elevation a concern?

Answer

In June Lake, and especially at the top of June Mountain, you may feel the effects of the high elevation. The wedding will be at an elevation of 8,695 ft. We encourage all guests to drink lots of water, gatorade and eat plenty of food during their time in the Sierra Nevadas.

Question

What do I wear?

Answer

Because of the ski lift, it is advised that guests bring appropriate shoes for getting on and off but to bring their heels for the wedding portion if they wish! The dress code is smart casual-semi formal. Mountain weather can be very unpredictable so please bring a jacket or umbrella if you are able :)

Question

Should I stay in Mammoth or June Lake?

Answer

June Lake's closest "big town" is Mammoth Lakes. It is a great place to stay, and I have listed a hotel option for it. It is a bit further from our venue (about a 40 minute drive) so pre-planned transportation to and from the wedding is encouraged.

Question

What is the closest airport?

Answer

Mammoth Lakes airport is the closest airport to June Lake. They do have flights and car rental options. However, it is a small airport so they may be limited on flight options. Bishop is similar, it does have daily direct flights from San Francisco in the Summer so it may be a great option if you can fly to San Francisco and connect from there. Either way, I recommend exploring their websites and seeing what may work. Reno has the closest big airport with more flight options. It is about a 3 hours drive from June Lake, there are rental car companies available.

Question

When should I book my accommodations?

Answer

Our wedding is at peak tourist season for the area, we encourage all our guests to book their accommodations at their earliest convenience.

Question

Your wedding is on a ski mountain? How do I get up there?!

Answer

Our venue is at the top of June mountain ski area. To get up to the venue you will park in the ski mountain parking lot of the ground level ski station. From there you will take a ski lift up to the venue! It is very cool. However, we have considered this may be a challenging arrival for some, a van which can accommodate up to 10 people will be provided to drive those who need it up to the venue.

Question

How do I use the ski lift?

Answer

Upon arrival you will park your car in the parking lot at the base of the ski mountain. There will be signs directing guests to the lift. From there you will head over to the ski lift where attendants will be working to direct guests onto the lift and up to the wedding. The lift has a protective bar. Attendants will also help you off the lift. If you have any questions please reach out!

Question

No kid wedding?

Answer

Although we love your children we regretfully can’t accommodate them at the venue due to restricted numbers. Therefore, the names on your save the date and invitation are the only individuals we can accommodate of your party. We hope you will see this as an opportunity to let your hair down and party with us.
