Travel Note
To get to the ceremony and reception venue from Orient Point, eastern Long Island, the Hyatt Regency, or the Holiday Inn Express, take the Long Island Expressway (LIE, 495) westbound. If coming from NYC or western Long Island, take the LIE eastbound. From either direction, take exit 53 and merge onto Sunken Meadow Parkway, northbound. Take the Sunken Meadow Parkway to the end to enter Sunken Meadow State Park. Tell the tollbooth agent that you are part of the Radigan-Newton wedding party to avoid the park entrance fee. Once you enter the state park, take the first left after the bridge to drive towards Field 2. From there follow the signs to the catering parking lot. Valet parking will be available. Make your way up the red brick path to the entrance of the Pavilion on the left. See the link below for google maps directions to the Sunken Meadow Pavilion.
Train
The Long Island Railroad (LIRR) is a good option for out-of-town guests to get to the hotels or venue. To get to either hotel from NYC, take a Ronkonkoma-bound train from either Penn Station or Grand Central Station. For the Holiday Inn, get off at the Brentwood stop and taxi (~10 minutes) to the hotel. For the Hyatt, get off at the Ronkonkoma stop and taxi (~10 minutes) to the hotel. If coming from JFK airport, take the AirTrain from any terminal to Jamaica station and then transfer to a Ronkonkoma-bound train from there. If coming directly to the venue for the ceremony and reception, take a Port Jefferson-bound train to Kings Park station (note that you may need to change trains at Huntington), then taxi to the Sunken Meadow Pavilion from there (~7 minutes). Be sure to have your taxi driver mention that you are coming to the Radigan-Newton Wedding at the tollbooth so that you are not charged a fee to enter the state park. Flight
Long Island MacArthur (ISP) airport is the closest airport to the hotels (~15 min drive) and reception venue (~30 min drive). However, it is a small airport and offers limited flight options. JFK and LaGuardia (LGA) airports offer many more flight options and are both about a 1-hour drive from the hotels. JFK airport also offers access to the AirTrain, which connects to the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) as mentioned above.
Travel Note
The Cross Sound Ferry from New London, CT to Orient Point, LI is a great way for guests coming from New England to break up the drive and see some of the prettiest parts of Long Island. Take 95 South to exit 84S for CT-32S toward New London and follow the signs for the ferry. The ferry ride takes about 1.5 hours and after getting off the ferry it is about a 1.5-hour drive to the hotels. Reservations for the ferry are required and can be completed at the link below.
