Things To Do

Northport

Northport

Main Street, Northport, NY 11768

Northport is the charming haborfront town where Lauren grew up. There are many excellent restaurants there including Skipper's Pub, where Lauren briefly worked as a hostess, Salted, where Lauren took Chris for his 30th birthday, and Harbor House, where she took him for his 31st birthday. The Wine Cellar and Sand City Brewing Company are great places to grab a drink and Lics has the best ice cream. See the link below for other things to do in Northport.

Robert Moses State Park

Robert Moses State Park

Robert Moses State Causeway, Bay Shore, NY 11706

Fire Island has some of the best beaches on Long Island. The easiest one to get to is Robert Moses. Take the Robert Moses State Causeway to the end. Go left at the roundabout that surrounds the water tower to park in Field 5. It costs $10 / car for the day. There is a bar right on the beach or you can walk ~2 miles east (towards the lighthouse) to the town of Kismet to get lunch at one of the many restaurants and shops. If you have more time, you can also consider taking a ferry from Bay Shore to one of the many towns on Fire Island. See https://fireislandferries.com/schedules/ for more information.

Long Island Wineries

Long Island Wineries

Greenport, NY 11944

The North Fork of eastern Long Island has many wineries that offer tastings and live music. The link below offers many options. A few highlights include Jason’s Vineyard in Jamesport which has llamas, Kontokoska Winery in Greenport which overlooks the Long Island Sound, or Osprey’s Dominion, which makes Lauren's grandmother's favorite riesling. The Greenport brewery also has a nice outdoor area with yard games. These sites are all about 1-1.5 hours from the hotels but may be a worthwhile stop for guests using the Orient Point ferry. The town of Greenport also has many cute shops and waterfront restaurants.

Maureen's Kitchen

Maureen's Kitchen

108 Terry Road, Smithtown, NY 11787

Maureen's kitchen is one of Lauren's favorite brunch spots and it is only a ~10min drive from the hotels. Please note that they are cash-only and do not take reservations.

Blydenburgh County Park

Blydenburgh County Park

Veteran's Memorial Highway, Smithtown, NY 11788

Blydenburgh County Park is a beautiful park with many walking trails located ~10min drive away from the hotels.
