Question
When and how should I reserve lodging at Sylvan Lake?
Answer
While we understand it may be early to be making travel plans, Custer State Park Resort's accommodations book very quickly. Outside of the Park, options are limited, and you can expect a drive time of 20 minutes or more from our reception location. We are only able to set up a small block of rooms that are now open to the public to take as well. If you are at all interested in reserving a room or cabin on site, the Sylvan Lake Lodge recommends that you call and make your reservations as soon as possible so that you have the best possible chance of getting a room or cabin type that works for you. Call 1-888-875-0001 to make your reservations and reference the Bohls/Witkamp Wedding at the Sylvan Lake Lodge on Saturday, June 21, 2025 when calling. If there are no units in the block that suit your needs, you can ask what is available outside of the block, instead. Be prepared to charge the first and last night's deposit when making your reservation. If you do have to cancel, this deposit is refundable less a $25 cancellation fee if you do so at least 15 days in advance.

Is there lodging other than at Sylvan Lake?

If we get enough interest we might block some rooms at a hotel in Hill City along with shuttle service to and from. If you are interested in this please message Liza as soon as possible at 605-484-6192 so we can get a count to see if it is enough to book a shuttle.

Dress code?
Answer
Green is the color of growth, prosperity, and tranquility. We would love to see as much green as possible! Formal Attire. Please refrain from wearing jeans, and for men, open-toe shoes.

Are kids invited?

Of course! We wouldn't be where we are today without our families - kids included! We would love for them to celebrate our day with us. Just please let us know the exact number of kiddos you plan on bringing along with you on the RSVP's.

We kindly request an unplugged ceremony. We've asked a professional photographer to capture this special moment for us. Turn off all devices and enjoy being fully present in this moment with us. Photos are welcome at the reception!

Will there be alcohol served?

Yes. There will be a full service bar with beer, wine, and liquor.

Parking?
Answer
Custer State Park does not allow us to block off parking for the wedding. Sylvan lake is a very popular tourist destination. Be prepared to possibly have to walk from one of the other parking lots nearby.

Will the wedding be inside or outside?

Come celebrate with us at our outdoor ceremony, followed by our indoor wedding reception

Dates are welcome! We only ask you to include them in your RSVP. Come help us celebrate our love and commitment.
