Flight
Our venue is under 30 minutes from San Juan, so we recommend flying into this airport, no passport needed! It's okay to check a bag, but recommend making sure that all of your important items are in your carryon and personal items. Of course, it may be safer not checking a bag at this airport and only bringing a carryon and/or personal item. Jet Blue, Frontier, American Airlines, and Southwest currently have flights for the time of our wedding, but more airlines will post as we get closer. Keep in mind during your stay that the airport is diligent about scanning bags for plants and wildlife. While we know the rain forest and surrounding nature is gorgeous and you may want to remember it forever, be sure to take photos and not to track any of the beautiful foliage, flowers, fruit or infamous coqui frogs with you among other plants and animals! When departing, you will need to go through this scanner before TSA. Look to the left and right when you walk in and you will see a these machines. Once they scan your bags, they will put a sticker on your bag. You can't go through TSA without that sticker.

Rental Car
You will definitely want to get a rental car to travel around the island while you are here! We recommend getting a larger vehicle, like a Jeep, if possible to be able to navigate the mountainous terrain easily.

Travel Note
Puerto Rico uses both the metric and imperial systems of measurement. This is because of historical and practical reasons. Pumping gasoline may be a different experience than what you are used to as it is in liters among other differences. For more, watch the video linked above. Street signs are in Spanish, but knowing that "Salida" means "Exit" should get you far. The markers and speed limits are posted in kilometers.
