Women Typically, women wear their best dresses to a black tie wedding. Break out you're best long gown. However, if you prefer a shorter dress, that’s OK. Cocktail dresses are acceptable as long as they’re a bit more overstated and glamorous than the typical semi-formal dress. Think embellishments and sparkly accents. Shorter dresses should also at least hit below the knee. Women can also opt for a flashy suit. Try something well-tailored in a dark tone. Avoid any hues on the white spectrum—off-white, cream, ivory, eggshell, vanilla, etc. If you’re stumped on what dress to wear, feel free to send us any pictures! Men Black tie for men usually indicates a tuxedo. If you can have a normal black suit you can get away with wearing a bow tie if you don’t have a tuxedo jacket. https://www.brides.com/story/black-tie-wedding-guest-dress-code-long-gowns

In August, NYC tends to be hot and sometimes a bit humid, so opt for lightweight, breathable clothing like linen, shorts, t-shirts, and sandals. Don't forget sun protection and a light layer for cooler evenings or indoor spaces.
New York City's subway system is generally safe. The 4 5 6, and Q trains run along the Upper East Side, which is most likely where you'll be staying. Always exercise caution, stay aware of your surroundings, and enjoy the ride to our wedding celebration if that's the method of transportation you decide to use!
