I met Nicole freshman year at UCLA, and was immediately blown away by her beauty, her charisma, and the way the she treated everyone around her. Unfortunately for me... I didn't even hit the radar for her! And she had a boyfriend! This was going to be an uphill battle... In the following months I made every effort to "bump into" Nicole at parties, in the cafeteria, and other places on campus. Things got borderline problematic when I confessed my love for her to all of her friends, and started studying in her dorm study lounge in the hopes that I would run into her. I told myself and all my friends I just needed more reps and she would eventually fall in love with me. Blind optimism. Still not even on her radar and she still had a boyfriend. Things were going great. Eventually, her and the boyfriend broke up and word got around to me. I boldly called her up to invite her to a date party that week (later I found out she still didn't really know who I was). Luckily her friends were pulling for me, and they convinced her to go. This was all I needed! I could hear the wedding bells already. I donned my freshest Ralph Lauren button down, crisp red tie, and khaki pants. In retrospect, I looked like I was running for election at the Republican National Convention... yikes. *See our gallery section for the evidence* My fashion choices didn't scare her off, and I assume I won her over throughout the night with my talent on the dance floor, boyish charm, and the finest of Sigma Chi's plastic handle vodka. After several more months of convincing her I was not a creepy stalker (just a normal, cool stalker), several more date parties, a few tear-filled confessions of love (all from me, of course)... she eventually saw it my way! Needless to say, I'm very happy this is all culminating in a marriage license and not a restraining order. Our story is 10+ years in the making, and we're just getting started. I couldn't be more excited to marry my best friend, surrounded by so many of our family members and friends who have been there to support us through it all. Persistence pays off! :)
