Wedding Party

Matthew Brenchley (he/him)

Best Man

Matt and Jason met in 2021. Matt was a social worker at the time and Jason was still working on his degree. They bonded over their shared love of sports and desire to do good for their community. In 2023, Matt moved in with Jason and Mikayla, and their friendship grew tremendously. Matt was one of first people to see the ring, and he was the first person Jason and Mikayla wanted to be in the wedding party.

Casey Murphy (he/him)

Groomsman

Jason and Casey have known each other for over a decade. They played soccer together when they were in high school and were able to reconnect during COVID-19 through TikTok. They became workout partners for several months, and Casey was the first person Jason told that he would propose to Mikayla.

Sophia Gallagher (she/her)

Groomswoman

Jason and Sophia met working at Topgolf together, and are actually partners in their mobile bartending business, Gallagher Grove. Through the years, they have worked together in different jobs and have gone into business together, but where others usually grow apart, their friendship has remained strong.

Chris Krummrich (he/him)

Groomsman

Chris and Jason also met while working at Topgolf, and they have likely the goofiest relationship. Whether it’s making each other laugh at work or going to a Thunder game and exclusively yelling about how terrible Austin Rivers is, they always find ways to have fun with each other.

Marty Gilligan (he/him)

Groomsman

Marty and Jason have known each other for going on 20 years, meeting while in separate Cub Scout packs, but ending up in the same Boy Scout patrol. When Marty was awarded his Eagle Scout, Jason was the Master of Ceremonies, and when Jason was awarded his Eagle Scout, Marty did the same. Through the years, both together and apart, Jason has always known Marty as one of the closest friends he has ever had.

Katelyn Sajewicz (she/her)

Maid of Honor

Kate has been friends with Mikayla for almost 12 years. They originally met on Instagram, and since Kate lives in North Carolina and Mikayla lives in Oklahoma, they would skype each other in the middle of the night to talk to one another. They followed each other through multiple milestones, and in college, they started writing letters to update each other on their lives. Kate is teaching assistant and graduate student at the University of North Carolina - Charlotte. Her research is in feminist studies with a focus on pre-historic goddess worship in the paleolithic and neolithic periods.

Autumn Mathews (she/her)

Autumn is a research analyst for the Oklahoma House of Representatives. She is a graduate student at Kansas State University focusing on community development.

Jake Reavis (he/him)

Bridesman

Jake and Mikayla originally met through their classes together at the University of Central Oklahoma, and then became co-workers for the Center. He has always been a person that gives endless support and help, both as a co-worker and a friend. Jake is history graduate student at the University of Central Oklahoma, with a focus on South Asian studies and a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. He has a passion for advocacy and activism.

Ty Anderson (they/them)

They have a passion for activism and ecology.

Maya Fitch (they/she)

Bridesperson

Maya and Mikayla originally met through their classes at the University of Central Oklahoma and were co-workers at the Center for a year. They share an interest in history, politics, and their cats. They knew Jason was going to propose a year before he actually did it! Maya graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a degree in History-Museum Studies, with a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. They are an artist who creates their own jewelry, and they’re passionate about queer history.
