Maid of Honor
Since the very first day of my life, my sister has been by my side. She took the responsibility of being my big sister very seriously and went as far as to push me in my electronically powered baby swing and always made sure that I was safe by keeping a foot or an arm on me at all times as we slept. Even though she is more than a year older than me, we were always put in matching outfits with bows on the very tops of our heads, and we played on all the same teams until we couldn't any more. I always wanted to be better at things so I could keep up with my big sister. My big sister would become my best friend for life--knowing me better than anyone ever has before. The love and appreciation I have for her knows absolutely no bounds. She has always been patient, and kind, and there is no better feeling than hearing someone scream "It's Mae Mae!" every time she answers my phone call. She also recently brought my favorite human into the world--her name is Reagan, she is approximately 10 months old (at the time of our wedding) and she is the beautiful, sweet, smiling baby with the flower crown. She may not be able to walk down the aisle, but she can surely carry the flower girl spirit with her!

Ashleigh and I met in our post-undergrad teaching program and she is an out of this world amazing person and friend. Ashleigh has been the person I can call in the middle of the night and say "Ash I need you" and she gets in the car and drives however far she needs to go to get to you. She is the person who make sure that no accomplishment goes uncelebrated no matter what is going on for her and has taught me what true confidence and self-worth look like every day. We have eaten Taco Bell (yes, Taco Bell) in the middle of the night for no reason other than we felt like it, sung Sam Smith songs while reclined in our car seats, and always found a way to be there no matter how far we have been. Ashleigh was one of the first people in my life who I got to celebrate our engagement with in person when she drove last minute to meet us for a few hours in Disneyland. You are one special human Ashleigh! Thank you for being my bridesmaid!

Lindsay is Pierce's big sister and my future sister-in-law. Because she lives in Southern California with her husband and two beautiful kids, and because Pierce and I spent the entire first year of our relationship long-distance, Lindsay and I did not have the opportunity to meet in person until thirty seconds post-proposal! She knelt in the sand and was our proposal photographer (and coordinator)! Lindsay is the type of person who can make you feel immediately more relaxed and undeniably supported with only a few words. She is truly an incredible and remarkable person who, in this short time, is someone I have come to deeply admire. Pierce always talked about his sister, truly, as being so special to him and for being such an amazing older sister to him. From this, it was clear how important she was to him and made me even more nervous to meet her! Once I did, I saw what a beautiful, selfless, and supportive person she is and I am so grateful to know you and love you Lindsay! Thank you for all you have done so far and I am SO happy that you will be my sister-in-law! I am so blessed.

By the time of the wedding, Kim and I will have been friends for over 11 years. Kim and I met on the first day of our post-undergrad teaching program, quoted Step Brothers to each other, and never looked back! We became co-team leaders through our organization and eventually roommates as well. It says something pretty special to be able to work with someone, live with someone, and be great friends! We ate chinese food on the bare floor of our Mar Vista apartment and turned simple nights-in on the couch into "push all of the furniture out of the way so that we can make room to re-make the high school musical dance" nights. Together, just about anything is fun! Kim is an amazing person who I can always rely on and always be myself with because she is so supportive and loving. I am so blessed to have her in my life.

Sofia and I met in college and quickly bonded when we realized we were both Bay Area women and immediately felt at home with this knowledge. As both of our personalities are largely comprised of an unhealthy love of dogs, good food, comfortable clothing, evenings on the couch, and ultimately a love of anything that does not involve going to clubs, bars, or out among people, I have always been so comfortable with Sofia. She is one of those friends who no matter how far you are from each other, or no matter how long it has been since you haven't talked, we pick up where we left off and it's like we were never apart. The fun we have together is effortless and focuses on the things that are important in life. She is the cooler and more collected of the two of us and despite her being younger, I have always looked up to her--a future lawyer and a lifelong cool kid.

"Pierce and I first met in Cub Scouts some time in elementary school. He thought I was weird, and we didn’t hang out. But then we met again at band camp in our freshman year of high school, and we became immediate friends. “You’re the weird guy from cub scouts”, he said, as we played our clarinets. We became fast friends after that, running on the cross-country team together and eventually becoming mediocre soccer players. We spent many nights watching “24” and eating gummy worms, and many days trying to give each other concussions in backyard football. We share a similar, rare, strange sense of humor that helped us remain fast friends after high school. Both of us played rugby and studied history in college (at different schools), but Pierce decided to actually use his education and became a lawyer, and I became a carpenter with a snowboarding problem. I have a beautiful wife and 2 year old son back home in the Seattle area where I build houses. I spend a lot of my time in the mountains or trying to stay in good enough shape to keep up with my son. These days, Pierce and I don’t get to see each other as often as we used to. But I truly treasure the time I get with him, even if I’m just stopping by to patch some drywall. He is a man I am proud to call my friend." - Brian Magelssen

"Ancient scholars say that the strongest bonds were made of iron and aluminum. Nothing speaks more truth to this than the friendship forged between Pierce and Payton. They originally met in the Year of Our Lord 2010, as students at Loyola Marymount University. They quickly bonded through trips to the gym (iron) and their love of Coors Light (aluminum). The two spent hundreds of hours together writing history papers, playing Call of Duty, and watching (Nicolas Cage) movies. Ultimately, Pierce convinced Payton to go to law school and the two took their talents across town, to Loyola Law School. As an aside, Payton met his gorgeous wife there and the two of them now have two beautiful daughters. Does Payton owe Pierce his happiness? Maybe. Payton and Pierce were roommates all through law school. When they weren’t studying, they spent their time together kidnapping their friend Anthony and forcing him to play StarCraft with them. Of course, Payton and Pierce continued to honor the iron and aluminum origins of their friendship—they braved the cesspool that is Gold’s Gym Downtown Los Angeles (ultimately almost destroying their credit) and enjoyed many more Coors Lights and many more Nic Cage masterpieces. Both are now successful lawyers who have somehow managed to bat way out of their leagues with their respective partners. And they’re both still close friends, whose iron and aluminum friendship Cicero foretold when he said: Amicus est tamquam alter idem." -Payton Lyon

"Pierce and Brandon (aka “Carlisle”) met freshman year of high school through mutual friends on the cross country team, though Pierce’s ADHD and meteoric rise to the varsity squad mostly confused a strait-laced 14-year-old Brandon. Brandon once ding-dong ditched Pierce’s house in the middle of the night only to be chased around the neighborhood by Pierce’s dad, who he has been afraid of to this day (Hi Richard!). Turns out Pierce wasn’t home and Brandon dove into the blackberry bushes for nothing. More recently, Pierce generously opened his home to Brandon who paid rent in part with fancy bottles of rum to live in the guest room while keeping things tidy and occasionally dog sitting Malloy. It was in these days that Pierce was newly courting a wonderful woman named Mae. These days, Pierce and Brandon fan the flame of their friendship by killing virtual robots together. You’ll probably find Brandon after the wedding sleeping in a van parked outside the venue, dreaming of moving back to Hawaii or who knows where next." -Brandon Carlisle

"Pierce and I met during early grade school on the soccer field. Immediately I was drawn to his hyperactive fun-loving energy; as a kid, Pierce's "normal" was the same as a typical 6 year old on a sugar bender after eating half a bucket of Halloween candy. Since then, we have shared decades of friendship: trading Star Wars cards, building forts in the neighborhood forest, shooting each other with different paintball and airsoft arms, learning how to lift weights, partnering in student leadership positions, sharing our first drinks together (and discovering what it means to have one too many), and much more. After graduating with Pierce from Bellevue High School, I went to University of Washington, then I started my career in management consulting. In 2015, my girlfriend (now wife) and I moved to New York City where I got my MBA at Columbia and we both worked. In 2020, we moved back to the Seattle area and I started working for Dell, my current employer. We have a 2 year old daughter, Isabella, and we love to be with friends and family, enjoying good times, food, wine, and nature. We are really connected to the Puget Sound region and we often say that there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes! We also are strong advocates for umbrella ownership and usage during long walks over the rainy season. Looking forward to dragging Pierce (and Mae) outside into long wet winter walks for years to come." - Connor Bogin

"Eons ago in a faraway land that made Mordor look like Club Med, an orc man from the forests of the north met a goblin creature from the swamps to the east. Though an unlikely pair, this lanky goblin and robust orc, together with their band of fellow travelers at LMU, would go on many an adventure — always seeking the finest meade and liveliest merriment. Through bouts of combat among mortals and competitive ale drinking, their bond was forged as if by the fire of dragons. And it was with a very heavy heart that the goblin bid farewell to the orc when their paths diverged. Still, the goblin was filled with pride when the orc learned to study the laws of this fair land. He is now equally proud to see the orc take the hand of Lady May and unite their two houses. Jason, as the goblin is known to humans, is a psychotherapist and writer based in the magical kingdom of Austin, TX who enjoys shredding it up on the yoga mat or at live music shows. He's a little bit country, a little bit rock n' roll, and plans to one day buy a villa in the Mediterranean where life moves a little slower." - Jason Scott

"Many years ago the stars aligned to bring our ragtag group of college misfits together. It started when I met my new roommates for the summer and then a strange, beautiful man entered our lives. He was very athletic, loved playing video games and was weirdly good at playing piano. We got to know each other over many nights with Kettle One and other miscellaneous beverages and became a tiny college family. Pierce introduced us to many things including Mendocino Farms (where he had a sandwich named after him) and J Crew (this man has style), and our lives have been elevated due to his influence ever since. Our bromance has continued on even though we are notoriously bad at reaching out to one another. A simple text with a cat meme or funny picture is all we need to show each other we care. My name is Anthony and I’m currently in Surgery Residency in Southern California. I have a wife and 2 year old daughter and we’re looking forward to starting the next chapter of our lives after Residency." - Anthony Traboulsi
