Matron of Honor
"Stef and I met when starting at North Paw in Fall of 2018. We very quickly became besties for the resties, and I absolutely cannot imagine my life without her! I am so honored and excited to celebrate the perfect pairing of Matthew and Stefanie!"
Co-Best Man
"Zipple and I met at St. Thomas More, where we stuck together near the bottom of the social ladder and annoyed our brothers with our math skills. Since then, we've been able to seamlessly re-enter each other’s lives at any moment and catch up like no time was missed, continuing to have grand adventures to this day. I've had the pleasure of getting to know Stefanie over the past few years through trivia and the best Oscar parties in the world, seeing a wonderful relationship turn into an everlasting love."
Maid of Honor
"Stefanie and I met in high school through our chorus class, and we instantly became the 'trouble twins'. I’ve never had a friend like Stefanie. I am so happy she and Matthew have found each other, and I cannot wait to see her marry her other half!"
Co-Best Man
"Zip and I met when I first moved to North Carolina, and I was immediately impressed with how passionately he insisted I adopt Duke, and not UNC, as my triangle sports fandom. Sensing a kindred spirit, I was lucky enough to share frisbee, dark beer, college sports, games, a willingness to die on any hill, and a handful of other things with him that brought us together incredibly quickly. I've seen him and Stefanie from the very beginning and watching them grow together has been an absolute delight!"
Bridesmaid
"In my official capacity, I am married to Stefanie's fiance's brother, Isaiah, but I like to think of myself as one of Stef's friends, and not just her soon to be sister-in-law. I am so grateful to have gotten to know Stefanie over the years that I was dating and now married to Isaiah, and I am so grateful to her for her friendship as we navigate being part of the Zipple family. I have missed getting to see Stefanie and Matthew since they moved to New York, but I am so excited to be part of this next big step in their journey together."
Groomsman
"I’m Stef’s brother. When I first met Matthew, his hair was longer and his stache was shorter. Things have since changed but I always knew the guy was going places - evidently to the altar to marry my sister, and I couldn’t be happier for them!"
Bridesmaid
"I got to know Matthew in grad school, which very fortunately for me meant I also got to be connected to the amazing Stefanie!! I will never forget a very silly road trip we took from Toronto to Niagara Falls, fun trips to the bowling alley, trivia at Hot Tin Roof….all of which showed me just how perfect these two are for each other. Together, they’re an unstoppable force for fun, and they effortlessly get everyone around them to have more fun too."
Groomsman
"My first impression of Matthew was 'this guy is a total tool'. It turns out I was very wrong! Matthew and I became great friends through grad school and he's also the smartest guy I know. We've gone on many adventures, from Durham Bulls games to Toronto road trips, and have collaborated to develop a strong library of bad pun jokes. I'm really honored to be part of this moment in his and Stefanie's lives and so excited for their future!"
Bridesmaid
"I moved to North Carolina 5-6 years ago and met Stef when I started working at Hand and Stone Massage in Chapel Hill, and she quickly became my first friend here! We have so many good memories of going to a Canes game, a Bulls game, and the countless hours watching and discussing Stranger Things! I am so excited to be a part of her and Matthew's special day!"
Groomsman
"I met Matthew in grad school, when he mistook my exuberance for actual youth. Despite my advanced age, we became friends and bonded over our competitive spirit and interest in moderately controversial topics of conversation. Matthew made grad school fun, and I'm so thrilled to celebrate him and Stefanie (despite the implication of a lifetime of uncomfortable couple's Halloween costume choices)!"
Bridesmaid
"I know Stefanie and Matthew from our time as baboon-ologists. Matthew and I were lab-mates (aka science siblings) at Duke, sharing a very small office for many years. Stefanie, Matthew, and I have spent a lot of time in Amboseli together hanging out with baboons!"
Groomsman
"Despite how he may appear in the above photograph, I've come to know Matthew Zipple as a true gentleman and scholar since he moved to Ithaca. He is a wonderful conversationalist, and he hosts - alongside his more elegant half Stefanie - some of the best social gatherings this town has to offer. Just dont ask him about the weather mafia. I'm honored to be a part of Matthew and Stefanie's special day!"
Bridesmaid
"Stef and I have been through thick and thin pursuing our OTA degree together. It has been a long and mentally draining process, but there's no one I'd rather have to support me through academic hell. We have become very close, and I'm so thankful to have her as my #1 cheerleader!"
Groomsman
"I am Matthew's middlest brother. Matthew and I grew up together, and I have been lucky enough to watch him grow into the person he is today. Some of my favorite memories of our time together include exploring the woods at our parents' house, Camp Broad Stone, and our many hikes."
Bridesmaid
"I had the pleasure of meeting Stef on Halloween night in 2021! Since then, it has been so much fun hanging out in Ithaca with her: going to see local bands, eating at yummy restaurants, and attending her awesome & creative parties. I can't wait to celebrate Stef and Matthew during their wedding on Halloween weekend in 2023!"
Groomsman
"On April 6th, 1995, I woke up to find my parents gone and my grandparents in their bedroom. This was alarming. They made up for the alarm by making pancakes for breakfast. Matthew arrived home from the hospital shortly thereafter. I wasn't too happy about getting brother #2 at the time, but I've been really glad to have him as a brother ever since."
Officiant
"I’m so thrilled to be a participant in Matthew and Stefanie’s wedding. I knew from the moment I first met Matthew that he’d be incredibly fun to work with, and my prediction was true – it’s been a privilege, and a blast, doing science with him. And, I knew from the moment I first met Stefanie that she was perfect for Matthew – keeping up with him stride for stride but also infusing some down-to-earth energy when he starts to fly into eccentric (and always highly entertaining) orbits. I’m looking forward to October 2023!"
