A staple of both the university and the city as a whole, Morehead is a cool stop for a planetarium show or a tour of the science center for people looking for something unique and informational!
Ackland Art Museum
we have been here for a few different art exhibits, all of which have been very fascinating and enriching. you'll want to plan for about 90 minutes here.
Cat Tales Cat Cafe
Come on in and enjoy some calm laid back vibes before the excitement of wedding weekend with a nice book and some adoptable kittens ready to hang out! What’s more Stefanie and Matthew than that?!
Hot Tin Roof
the infamous hot tin roof, where we have been to at least 100 trivia nights. depending on how long you're in town, angry trivia on tuesdays is top notch. otherwise, enjoy craft beer, heavy pours, and a rustic atmosphere. oh, and say hi to mark for us.
Franklin Street
franklin street is a hot spot for shopping and dining near unc's campus. enjoy a stroll through town, pop into a few local shops, eat some cheese fries at linda's, and maybe head over to the old well while you're there.
Linda's Bar And Grill
we have spent many, many trivia nights at this awesome bar! in fact, many of our early dates occurred here. ask for a chilly willy, then order the world's BEST cheese fries with all the fixin's!
He's Not Here
one of the most popular spots on franklin st., he's not is a beer-only establishment, but the atmosphere is great, and the selection is good. don't forget to take your blue cup home!
Top of the Hill Restaurant & Brewery
enjoy cocktails on TOPO's terrace while looking out at chapel hill, especially at night. you won't regret it. and maybe enjoy some dinner beforehand.
Belltree Cocktail Club
A fun little speakeasy type bar tucked away on the edge of Chapel Hill and Carrboro! Great place for relaxing vibes and fun unique cocktails!
North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences
this one is in raleigh, but it is worth the trip if you have some extra time. this is a spectacular museum that the whole family can enjoy - adults and children alike. depending on your interest level, you'll want to plan for about 1-3 hours here.
North Carolina Botanical Garden
beautiful botanical gardens located in chapel hill. you'll want to plan for about 90 minutes here.

beautiful botanical gardens located in durham. you'll want to plan for about 60 minutes here.
Historic Occoneechee Speedway
this is a completely flat hiking trail that laps around the historic speedway of hillsborough. it takes about 40-60 minutes to complete.
Cat’s Cradle
An iconic, small enough that there are no bad places to see the stage but big enough that the energy is electric, venue is a great place to see a show nearly any day of the week in either the front or back venue! Tickets for some smaller shows go for as low as $12 making it an affordable way to enjoy live music!
Silverspot Cinema
we've been here several times to enjoy new films while munching on burgers in large, comfortable chairs. if there's a movie you've been wanting to catch, and you have some time, this is a great place to do that. make sure to check out their website for their weekly specials, and get your tickets ahead if you can.
