The Wedding Website of Alexandra Trunnell and Mark Gartsbeyn
The Catskills are a magical place, and we are so excited to welcome our friends and family who have never been! There are many hotels and vacation rentals in the area, and if you would like to find an Airbnb or Vrbo rather than staying in a hotel, you will find many options. Be sure to book early; October can get busy in the mountains, especially once the fall foliage arrives. Below are some tips for traveling; how to get to the mountains, some things to do, and local hotels and motels which are very close to both the Yellow House (the house Alex's family simply refers to as "Pine Hill") and to the village of Pine Hill.

Flight

ALB (Albany Airport)

The Albany airport is approximately a 1.5 hour journey from the Catskills by car. For our out of town guests, we recommend renting a car in order to easily get around and explore the mountains.

Flight

JKF, LGA, and EWR

The NYC airports have more options for flights than Albany, but are a bit further from the Catskills (more like 2.5 hours). Be sure to plan for extra travel time to get into the mountains.

Train

Rhinecliff, NY

Travel the Mark and Alex way and take the train! We love Amtrak, and there are many trains that come to Rhinecliff station about an hour drive from Pine Hill.

Hotel

The Starlite Motel

8722 NY-28
Big Indian, NY 12410
 (845) 254-4449

The Starlite Motel is a longtime favorite of ours due to its convenient location right next door to the Yellow House (aka "Pine Hill"), the house where Mark proposed to Alex and where we will be having our after party.

Hotel

Pine Hill Arms Hotel

286 Main Street
Pine Hill, NY 12465
 (845) 254-4012

The Pine Hill Arms is located in the village of Pine Hill approximately a 15 minute drive to the Phoenicia Diner, our celebration venue.

Hotel

Colonial Inn

305 Main Street
Pine Hill, NY 12410
 (845) 254-5577

Vintage Catskills flavor abounds at the Colonial Inn, a popular spot for locals to grab a drink and for visitors to hunker down for the night in a cozy room. Located across from the Pine Hill Arms right in the heart of the village of Pine Hill, it is approximately a 15 minute drive to the Phoenicia Diner.

Travel Note

Large Group? Book a House!

There are many vacation rental homes in the area; if you'd like to stay with friends or family in one large space, you might find that a home is more affordable per person than multiple hotel rooms! If you look for a house to rent, be sure to look near Phoenicia, Pine Hill, or Big Indian to be close to the action. Other good places to look include Fleischmanns and Arkville.
