In the midst of the 2020 pandemic, when the world was adjusting to a new way of life, our love story began. But the journey started a bit earlier. In 2019, before Madi moved to Washington, her friend and bridesmaid Taylor insisted during a grad school class for Madi to download the online dating app Hinge. A year later, after moving to Washington, Madi came across Devan's profile, and they instantly connected. Their first conversation was filled with laughter, shared interests, and a sense of familiarity that felt like destiny. They bonded over their mutual love for Star Wars and their adoration for dogs, setting the stage for a deep and meaningful relationship.

After they started dating, Madi warmly accepted Lilly, Devan's beloved corgi, into her life. In late 2021, they took the next step and moved in together, soon adopting their second dog, Charlie, a month or two later. Their family continued to grow when they became homeowners in 2022 and adopted their third (and final) dog, Sophie, in 2023. Fast forward four amazing years, and their bond has only grown stronger. After many real-life adventures, they've built a relationship founded on love, trust, and mutual support. Now, they share even more interests and mutual loves, from singing along to Mamma Mia and ABBA, to traveling and camping every free weekend.

In 2023, they took an unforgettable international trip to Spain, where Devan proposed on the beautiful island of Mallorca. And yes, Madi knew about the proposal—Devan has never been great at keeping secrets! It was still a magical moment that marked the beginning of their next chapter together.
