We are both adventurous, so it is only fitting we met on a trip to Belize, hiking through rainforests and kayaking through underground rivers. We spent a week on a small atoll off the coast of Belize. There was no electricity, no iPods or iPads or cable tv. Bathrooms were a raised hole covered with sawdust; showers were a combination of rainwater and sea water. We got to know each other while living in huts built over the blue waters of the Caribbean. It was rugged but also dreamy. It wasn't until we left Belize that each of us realized we didn't want to leave the other behind. A week later we officially began dating, though we now joke that we had a two-week first date in the sun, sand and waters of Belize.
