First and foremost, thank you! Words cannot describe how thankful we are to anybody who will be making the trip down to Disney World for our wedding! You have three Disney resort options with special pricing from which to choose. They are: Disney's All Star Movies Disney's Coronado Springs Disney's Beach Club **UPDATE: Blocks at Beach Club and Coronado Springs are full. Very limited availability remains at All Star Movies.** To book your room, please visit http://book.passkey.com/GO/G0800006 or call the Disney Weddings Reservations Team at (407) 827-6799 Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 6:00 pm EST Saturday - Sunday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm EST and mention the Fox & Griffith wedding or code G080006. If you are booking through the website and you have any questions or issues or just want verbal confirmation, we do suggest you call this phone number so you can speak to someone from the reservations team. Everyone is more than happy to help you in any way they can.
Short answer - as soon as you can! Once you know that you are coming, for how long, and at which resort you choose to stay, we strongly suggest you book your resort right away by either calling a Disney Weddings reservation specialist or going on our room block website. Once your resort is booked, the next step is to purchase park tickets (if you are choosing to do that) either through Disney Weddings or our recommended Disney Travel Agent (agent information in a later question). We also recommend you book tickets as soon as you can because of the park reservation system in place. While park capacity is expected to increase throughout the rest of the year and may even be normal by November, capacity is still limited at this time. This means only a certain amount of people are allowed in each park each day. Our wedding is also during both the 50th Anniversary and the holiday season, so the quicker you book your resort and get your desired park tickets, the better.
You are going to fly in to Orlando International Airport. The airport code you will see when booking is MCO.
By staying anywhere on Disney property, you have the exclusive ability to have Disney's Magical Express buses take you to your resort from the airport. The Magical Express will also pick you up from your resort and bring you back to the airport on the day you are leaving (which gives it the name of Tragical Express since no one wants to go home!). We strongly urge you take advantage of this since it is free, easy, and convenient and the booking process is simple as well. We do this every single time. There is no reason NOT to do it when staying at a Disney resort. Plus, it is such a fun way to start your trip! Once you have your flight and hotel information, go here to book. http://disneyurl.com/trans This link can also be found on our room block website.
No! You are not required to purchase any theme park tickets for our wedding. If you want to purchase tickets for your own enjoyment in the parks on other days, that is completely your choice.
Nope! As we have said, we are not asking anyone to purchase park tickets, make certain park or dining reservations, or plan anything else around us. We are so excited for you to be at our wedding, but besides that, this is YOUR Disney vacation. There is no pressure to do anything else. We did include in our "Wedding Weekend" page that we are having a welcome party on Saturday, November 6. As a reminder, all are invited, but if you are traveling at another time or wanted to make different plans, that is okay. We just ask that you RSVP for this event and you will have the opportunity to do so when you receive your actual wedding invitation.
As our wedding guest, you are able to take advantage of a discount on theme park tickets. You can buy them through this link: http://disneyurl.com/Weddings This link is also on our room block website. Please note that this discount is ONLY available for the Park Hopper ticket option. If you want one park per day tickets, you will NOT be getting the wedding guest discount. However, you can still purchase them through the provided link. We also want to point out that if you feel comfortable planning your whole trip on your own and you want Park Hopper tickets, then feel free to take advantage of the discount available to you. Another option is to use our recommended Disney Travel Agent. If you use her, then the discount available through Disney Weddings is not available. The discount is typically around $20, so it is up to you if it is worth not using the discount to have your entire trip planned for you. More specific information on our travel agent will be provided on this page.
There are three options for buying theme park tickets. The first option is buying tickets that allow you into one park per day. You are allowed to come and go from that one park all day, but it can only be that particular park you go to on that particular day. The second option is a Park Hopper ticket which allows you to go to more than one park in a day and the third option is a Park Hopper Plus ticket which is a park hopper plus water park (Blizzard Beach) and golf options. Each option is more expensive than the previous one. To read more about each option, you can find information here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/admission/
Absolutely! There is so much to do at Disney outside of the parks! Here are some suggestions: Resort hop - There are over 25 resorts on Disney property across the three categories of value, moderate, & deluxe. Each one has a distinct theme. Exploring the resorts to see what each one looks like and has to offer is one of our favorite things to do. Disney Springs - Disney Springs (formally Downtown Disney) is home to some of Disney's best restaurants and bars. There are also countless stores and other fun things to do and see there like driving a car in the water or flying in a balloon up in the air! Some of the most famous chefs in the world have restaurants in Disney Springs like Morimoto, Wolfgang Puck, Art Smith, and more! Go to www.disneysprings.com to learn more. Golf - There are a few beautiful golf courses on Disney property, including mini golf. We encourage our guests to take advantage of our recommended Disney Travel Agent, Meagan Cleghorn, from Magic Vacations, a platinum earmarked agency. You can reach her: By Email Meagan.cleghorn@ magicvacations.net By Facebook www.facebook.com/ meagancleghornmvp By Phone (979) 716-9492 Please note that if you use Meagan, you will still be booking your room separately through our room block, not with her. Meagan can do everything else as listed in the next question. You can only use her services if you are purchasing theme park tickets through her. If you would prefer to take advantage of our discounted tickets or don't want tickets at all, you are not able to use her services. If you decide to use her, you will be giving up the option for the discount tickets (park hopper option only), but we will point out that the discount is typically around $20 off, so it may be worth it to forfeit that to have your whole trip planned for you, worry free. Either way, the choice is yours.
Every aspect of your trip will be taken care of including: - Buying theme park tickets - Making dining reservations - Scheduling your Magical Express - Anything else you want/need planned! Other advantages: - You will receive a personalized itinerary for your trip so everything is organized in one location - You will have a point of contact for any questions or issues that may arise - Services are completely 100% free. You will never be charged anything! - Meagan will help and give you suggestions and recommendations based on the type of trip you are looking to have - She can answer any question you have about Disney like "What's the fastest way to get from Space Mountain to Peter Pan's Flight?" or "What are the best snacks in Epcot?"...literally anything! - Less stress and worry! Here is Meagan's contact information again: Meagan.cleghorn@ magicvacations.net www.facebook.com/ meagancleghornmvp (979) 716-9492 And if you're wondering, yes, even us "pros" are using her for our trip!
Make your lives easier and download the free My Disney Experience app from the app store! This app is where you will have all of your trip information. You can link your resort reservations to it, your park tickets, your dining reservations, etc. You can see wait times, maps of the parks and property in its entirety. Photos taken by Disney Photopass photographers around the parks can be seen and purchased from the app. Our Disney Travel Agent, Meagan, will absolutely be able to help you with this! In short, this app makes your Disney trip so much easier, so just get it!
Because Disney World is currently operating under a smaller capacity since reopening last July, they have started a new park reservation system. When you purchase park tickets, you have to reserve a spot in the park you want to go to each day. So this does require planning in that you need to know which parks you want to go to each day in advance! If the park reaches capacity before you reserve your spot in that particular park, you will not be admitted and you would have to choose a different park for that day. This is why it is best to do this sooner rather than later. Here is a tutorial on making park reservations from the Disney Food Blog https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/disney-park-pass-theme-park-reservation-system-for-walt-disney-world/ Our travel agent, Meagan, will be able to help guide you through this too.
Buying park hopper tickets allows you to go to more than one park in a single day. You can go straight from one park to another or break up the day with other things in between. For example, after a park in the morning, you can go back to your resort in the afternoon for some pool time and then to a different park at night. (You can break up your day similarly and go back to the same park at night if you buy the one park per day ticket. ) If you want to park hop, you only make a park reservation for the first park you want to go to in advance. On that park day, beginning at 2 pm, go on your MyDisneyExperience app and choose your next park based on which parks have availability. You cannot just show up to any park you want because if that park is already at capacity, you will be not be permitted inside. Here is a video to learn more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjkHcUyWknI As a reminder, you cannot park hop unless you have purchased the park hopper ticket which has an upcharge.
When FastPasses were available, they were a way for you to significantly decrease your wait time for certain rides/attractions. As of right now, FastPasses are not available. By the time our wedding comes around in November, they may have returned, but that is not known as of yet. Things are constantly changing, so if they do return, we will update you here. **UPDATE 8/23/21: FastPasses will NOT be returning to Disney World. The “replacement” will be a new app called Disney Genie which is a planning app that allows you to book “fastpasses” for a fee. It is debuting some time this fall. This is all very new information, even for us, and we are still trying to learn how this will work as Disney releases more details. We will post more as we learn more. As stated many times before, if you are using our recommended travel agent, she would have more information.
You can book dining reservations 60 days out from the desired date. Not all restaurants are open right now, but most are. It seems as if every day Disney is announcing another reopening. You may not know this, but Disney is known for their impeccable service and outstanding restaurants. We encourage you to try some, whether they are quick service or sit down, while you are in Disney! You can make reservations through your My Disney Experience app or if you are using our Disney Travel Agent, Meagan, she can book your reservations for you, as well as make recommendations. This would be very helpful since there are so many dining options! Reservations are not required for quick service restaurants. While you will always be able to snag a reservation SOMEWHERE on property at any given point, if there is a restaurant you really want to try, we suggest you book right at the 60 day mark as lots of reservations disappear at that time, especially the most popular ones.
If want to do visit other resorts, this is what we suggest: The Fastest Option: Uber/Lyft. **Disney has been more strict lately regarding who is visiting resorts. If you want to visit a resort and take an Uber or Lyft, you may be stopped by security to show that you are either a guest at that resort or have a dining reservation at that resort.** Some of the best restaurants on property are at the resorts so if you wanted to, you could always make a dining reservation and explore the resort either before or after your reservation. OR The Free Option: Arrive by Disney’s bus transportation. While there is no direct resort to resort transportation, you can take a bus from your resort to one of the parks or Disney Springs and then transfer to the bus going to the resort of your choosing. This way, you avoid security all together. Also, some resorts require Magic Band scans to enter the pool area to make sure only guests of that particular resort are in the pool.
One thing that is great about traveling to Disney is you never need your car once you are here. You start and end the trip with Disney's Magical Express, but while you are on Disney property, there is a complimentary bus system that includes regular bus service between the resorts and parks. There is also regular bus service to Disney Springs and regular bus service from park to park. However, there is NO resort to resort bus service. If you are looking to go from one resort to another you can: - Take a bus to any park, then change to a bus to the resort you want - Take a bus to Disney Springs, then change to a bus to the resort you want (give yourself at least an hour for these two options!) - Uber, Lyft (fastest option) The Monorail, boats/ferries, and the newest Disney Skyliner are additional forms of transportation that are at specific locations and not available everywhere. For more on transportation, visit https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/resort-transportation/
Yes, transportation will be provided on the day of the wedding. You will be picked up from your resort and brought to the ceremony. After the ceremony, you will board the buses again (even those who have driven to the ceremony) and be brought to the cocktail hour/reception and then back to your resort at the end of the reception. For your convenience, transportation will be available to you throughout the entire reception, if needed. Please note that wedding day transportation will only be for the three resorts in our room block. If anyone is not staying in our room block, they will need to provide their own transportation to one of the three resorts and take the transportation from there with the other wedding guests. If that does apply to anyone, we will work out in advance which resort you should be going to for wedding transportation. As we get closer to the wedding, a schedule will be created so everyone knows what time they will be picked up for our 4:30 pm ceremony start time.
Attire for the wedding is semi-formal. Examples would be suits/jacket and tie for men and cocktail dresses for women.
If your Save the Date/Invitation came addressed to you and a guest, then you are welcome to bring one. If not, then we would prefer if it was just you. If your invitation came addressed to you and a specifically named person on the envelope, but that person cannot come, we kindly ask that you don’t bring someone else in their place as that is different than being given a plus one. Disney has strict guest count guidelines we need to follow.
Because we are held by strict guest count limits through Disney, we are only including the children in our bridal party at our wedding. Thank you for understanding. You deserve a fun night out anyway! If your kids are coming with you to Disney World but you don’t have a relative to watch them during the wedding, we suggest using Kids Nite Out, a babysitting service that will come to your resort room and watch your child(ren) for the evening. Please visit the link below for more information. If you do choose to go this route, please reach out to either one of us and let us know! https://kidsniteout.com/in-room-sitter/
Since Disney World reopened in July 2020, various health and safety guidelines were in place. As conditions have changed, guidelines have changed, and may continue to change. You can find any current guidelines/restrictions in this "Know Before You Go" link: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/experience-updates/ As of 5/15/21, masks are optional outdoors but are required indoors for guests 2 & up, unless eating or drinking, regardless of vaccination status. In many instances, social distancing has been reduced to three feet or removed completely. **UPDATE: Social distancing is back to normal 7/1/21. Character experiences are from a distance. Fireworks are still suspended and character cavalcades have replaced parades. **UPDATE: Fireworks returned on 7/1/21. **It is important to note that this is how things are CURRENTLY. If you were going to Disney World tomorrow, this is what you could expect. If/when there are any additional changes, we will update them on this page immediately.
Yes. Masks are required by federal law on any form of public transportation, so if you are flying, you will be required to wear a mask in the airport and throughout the duration of your flight if you are 2 or older, unless you are are eating or drinking. In Disney World, the current rule is that masks are optional outdoors but required indoors unless you are eating or drinking. This means you will need to wear a mask on the Magical Express or any other form of Disney transportation, including on the wedding day, and anywhere else indoors including the resorts, indoor rides and attractions, stores, and restaurants until you are seated at your table. We suggest you bring multiple masks with you on your trip so that you always have a clean one to wear, especially if you get hot! Masks are sold around Disney property as well if you need more.
As of August 25, 2021, Disney does not require any proof of negative Covid test or vaccination. Disney does ask (and we do too) that if you are sick or have any symptoms, please stay home.*** What IS required by Disney is that every guest attending our wedding age 18 and older sign a Covid waiver form. This form will be emailed directly to you and will require a quick and easy electronic signature. Anyone who does not sign and return the form before the wedding, will NOT be permitted to attend, so please make sure those forms are returned as soon as possible so you don’t forget. We were told that the forms will be sent out around the 30 day mark so keep an eye out! We will update here if anything changes.
A big tip to share is download the Amazon Prime Now app. It makes life so much easier! Restaurants, stores, parks, and resort gift shops all close at night and there are no vending machines. So, if you are in your room at night and looking for something to eat or drink, you may be out of luck. By using this app, you can have cases of water, snacks, groceries, and even alcohol delivered to your room within hours of your order. We place an order on the first day. If it can’t be delivered straight to your room, your resort lobby will hold it for you to pick up.
