We're Getting Married!

Lauren and her family's favorite Disney World tradition over the years was watching the Epcot fireworks show, Illuminations, from the Italy pavilion bridge. Lauren remembers standing in that very spot during a family vacation in October 2016 thinking she couldn't wait to be back there one day with "the one." She had no clue that within three months she would meet that special someone and within a year, she would be there with him. It immediately became a special tradition and location for them and Disney became a huge part of their relationship. When Disney announced Illuminations was going to be replaced, they planned a vacation to Disney World to see it one last time in June 2019. On the second night of the trip, Lauren and Rob went to Epcot. As they walked into the park, Rob looked at his phone and said, "Oh, Lou and Steph (their friends who live local to Disney) are here! They're in Mexico." They all met up and had a great time together, strolling from Mexico to Italy. When they reached Italy, Rob said he was going to the restroom and to wait there. Little did Lauren know that her parents were there to pass over the ring to Rob! A few minutes later, Rob returned and as they walked by the bridge, Rob told Lauren she should do Boomerangs twirling in her dress. There were people on the bridge so Lauren protested at first, but Rob insisted they wait. They did a few and on the last one, Rob told Lauren to turn around and wait until he said "okay" and when he did, Lauren twirled around and found Rob on one knee! He gave the most heartfelt proposal and, of course, Lauren said "yes!" To her surprise, her parents were there, along with Rob's sister and college roommate. It also turned out that Lou and Steph were in on it all along to be the photographer and videographer. After lots of photos, the group walked to France, drank champagne to celebrate, and then went back to Italy to watch Illuminations together...on the bridge. It was the most magical night ever!
