We met across a bonfire on a beach at St. Mary's College of Maryland during the summer of 2013. Both of our friend groups had coincidentally called it a malt liquor night (40s for Conor's friends, Mad Dog 20/20s for my friends). After catching each others' eyes across the fire, we both worked up the courage to talk to each other as our group dispersed back up the hill towards campus. Our mishmash group of college kids clambered past a wedding going on that night in Historic St. Mary's with a live band. (Unlike a few members of our group, we were not bold enough to crash the wedding in our bonfire best.) Still, we could not miss an opportunity to listen to live music while looking out at the St. Mary's River. We ventured to the balcony of an academic building (Calvert) to chat and listen to the music. And the rest is history! We just knew we were meant to be together after that epic combination of bonfire, live music, great conversation, and the river (which especially sunk in after a few years of being each others' One That Got Away.) We are so excited to continue to build our story together with our loved ones to bear witness.
