Things To Do

Napili Bay

HI 96761

This one might be self explanatory, but the beach right out the backdoor of Napili Kai is one of the best. The section of the beach closest to the hotel is calm like a swimming pool and perfect for snorkeling. The other half is a bit more wild, excellent for catching a wave. Whatever you choose, you can always snag a lava flow at the Sea House and drink it on the sand.

Kapalua Bay Beach

Kapalua, HI 96761

Kapalua Bay Beach is a quiet beach known for it's calm waters and snorkeling. The beach is walkable from Napili Kai and right next to our wedding venue. This beach is best for snorkeling, sunbathing, and leisurely swimming. Parking is available, however it fills up very quickly and early in the morning.

D.T. Fleming Park

Lower Honoapiilani Road, Lahaina, HI 96761

DT Fleming is known for it's consistent waves and retro lifeguard stand. The public beach park has gorgeous views and free parking. This beach is best for boogie boarding and surfing, less so for snorkeling and leisurely swimming. If you ask Bob & Beth this beach is best known for the Beach Shack, which has great burgers and boozy milkshakes.

Black Rock Beach

Lahaina, HI 96761

Black Rock Beach is located at the end of Kaanapali Beach in front of The Sheraton. This beach is best known for cliff jumping. The waters are calm and there is great snorkeling as well.

Trilogy Excursions

Lahaina, HI 96761

One of the BEST boat rides offered on Maui. And since it is humpback whale season, the snorkel trips tend to include whale watching by default! We recommend the morning cruise as the whales are most active and you have plenty of time for the beach in the afternoon.

Kapalua Golf

2000 Plantation Club Drive, Lahaina, HI 96761

There are two golf courses at Kapalua Bay with stunning views of the ocean - the Bay Course and Plantation Course. We suggest booking tee times 30 days out (please note that if you book further in advance there is an additional fee. If you are staying at Napili Kai there is a discount.)!

Maui Sunriders Bike Co

71 Baldwin Avenue, Paia, HI 96779

The best tour for a bike ride down Haleakala. They get you to the top, teaching you all about Maui along the way, and you get yourself down the mountain. The self-guided nature of the ride allows you to take your time (or not) and really soak in the sights, which comes in handy since the views are insane and the towns along Haleakala Highway are full of great places to stop.

Napili Park Disc Golf Course

50 Maiha Street, Lahaina, HI 96761

If you're looking for a break from the sand and sea, disc golf is one of Jeff's favorite land-based activities. Make sure you bring your own disc!

Snorkel Bob's Honokowai

3350 Lower Honoapiilani Road, Lahaina, HI 96761

If you are looking for snorkel equipment, boogie boards, beach chairs, and really anything else you could need for the beach - Snorkel Bob's is the place to go! There are locations all over the island and you can rent by day or week.

The Gazebo

5315 Lower Honoapiilani Road, Lahaina, HI 96761

The Gazebo is known for their banana macadamia nut pancakes and the fried rice plate. Expect a line, but it's worth the wait! **There is a takeout window at the back of the restaurant if you prefer to eat on your lanai. The wait time is significantly less!

Maui Tacos - Napili

5095 Napilihau Street, Lahaina, HI 96761

Great tacos in a casual spot you can either eat in or take away from. This is our go-to when we arrive on Maui! Plus there are multiple locations on the island.

Maui Brewing Co. - Lahaina

4405 Hawaii 30, Lahaina, HI 96761

Maui Brewing Company is the largest craft brewing company in Hawaii. They serve excellent beers and great bar food. If we happen to have a rainy day while on Maui, this is where you will find us!

Mala Ocean Tavern

1307 Front Street, Lahaina, HI 96761

**Temporarily closed due to the wildfire, but hopeful they will be open come March!** Mala is right on the water and serves amazing, fresh, local cuisine (we're talking fish caught hours earlier fresh). If you would like to sit outside and catch the sunset, be sure to book a reservation for around 5PM!

Taverna Maui

2000 Village Road, Lahaina, HI 96761

Taverna serves up great Italian cuisine close to Napili Kai. If you're looking to swap out fish tacos for pizza, this spot is for you!

Whalers Village

2435 Kaanapali Parkway, Lahaina, HI 96761

Whalers Village is a an outdoor shopping mall located on Kaanapali Beach with tons of great shopping and restaurants.

Makawao Town

Makawao, HI 96779

If you're looking to explore the northern side of the island (think big wave surfing), look no further than Makawao. It's an adorable little town (which you will hit if you ride down Haleakala) with great shopping and places to eat. We highly recommend Polli's for lilikoi (aka passionfruit) margaritas and excellent Mexican food.
