FAQs

We have tried our best to cover it all! Please feel free to text/call Kyra or Jeff with anything we may have missed.
Question

Will there be a celebration elsewhere?

Answer

We completely understand that not everyone will be able to make it to Maui. While we do not plan to have any formal celebrations in the continental US, we would love to see those who won't be able to make it for a meal, drinks, or visit to Chicago leading up to the wedding.

Question

What is "beach formal"?

Answer

For the ladies: A dress, suit, or jumpsuit all work. While we will not be celebrating on a sandy beach, we wouldn't recommend your sharpest stilettos. Think a chunky heel, formal sandal, or flats. The island can be quite windy, so please consider this when choosing your outfit! For the gentlemen: Either a suit or a long-sleeved shirt with a jacket and slacks. No ties necessary, it is vacation after all. Dress shoes or loafers are perfect.

Question

What weather should I expect?

Answer

Maui is typically between 76 - 84 degrees in March. It can rain multiple times a day, but usually these are passing showers that finish after 5 - 10 minutes. Our ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside on the deck, with the rest of the evening taking place inside the open-air restaurant. While it is typically comfortable at all hours, we suggest bringing a light layer if you tend to get chilly.

Question

We're going to pair your wedding with a family vacation! Can we bring our kids to the ceremony and/or reception?

Answer

We are so glad you get to experience the magic of Maui as a family! While we wish we could accommodate everyone, our venue has a strict capacity limit and we cannot include children. Plus, we want all the parents in our lives to be able to fully enjoy the evening.

Question

So what am I supposed to do with my kids?

Answer

There are several nanny services on the island, but The Nanny Connection and Happy Kids have come highly recommended!

Question

Will you be providing transportation to/from the wedding venue?

Answer

No. We would like to have all of our guests as close to the venue as possible. Our goal is to maximize everyone's relaxation! Please consider booking via our wedding block at Napili Kai Beach Resort. If you opt to stay elsewhere, you will be responsible for arranging your own transportation for all wedding activities.

Question

Is Napili Kai Beach Resort an all-inclusive?

Answer

Sadly no. While you will have the option to bill food and drinks to your room, you will be charged for all purchases by line item at the end of your stay.

Question

We would like to stay at Napili Kai, but not for 5 nights. Can we still book via the room block?

Answer

Unfortunately we do not have any control over the room block minimum, so in order to benefit from the discounted rate you will have to book 5 nights. You are welcome to stay at Napili Kai regardless, you will just have to book via the hotel's general reservations process: https://be.synxis.com/landing?adult=1&arrive=2023-03-07&chain=17921&child=0&currency=USD&depart=2023-03-08&hotel=67104&level=hotel&locale=en-US&rooms=1.

Question

Do we have to pay for parking at Napili Kai?

Answer

No! Parking is free for all guests. There are also no resort fees.

Question

We are not staying at Napili Kai. Can we park at Merriman's?

Answer

Yes! There will be complimentary valet at Merriman's the day of the wedding.

For all the days along the way
