Maid of Honor
My wonderful little (bigger) sister! She has been there with me through it all, she's seen me at my absolute worst, and hopefully she'll get to stand beside me on a day when I'm finally coming into my best. She has always been the voice of reason, and while we have done plenty of crazy things together, she is usually the one who keeps us from getting killed. She is deeply loyal and the most devoted sister a person could have. Thanks for being my best friend and true partner in crime.
Best Man
Gavin is one of my oldest friends. I meet him in 3rd grade when he moved up to Savage MN from his home from Lonsdale MN. It was our teacher who set us up to be friends when she asked me to befriend him, and give him a tour of his new school. At that time both of us were in need of a good friend and we got to be that to each other. We have been best friends ever since. In the last few years, Gavin left college with a partially completed degree to pursue his lifelong dream of working in film production (I helped co-create his first video). By the time he made it out to LA he had only $8 in his pocket. Three years later he is one single promotion away from his dream of being a film producer. I am honored to have him be the best man in my wedding.
Bridesmaid
A dear friend from midwife school, Stephanie really brought me into their family and made me feel so a part of their lives. From studying together, acting out birth scenarios, and hosting my 20th birthday party, to rescuing me when I crashed my bike, or taking care of me when I got my wisdom teeth out, Stephanie was always available to me, not just in the external but emotionally. She cried with me and laughed with me. She prayed with me and most of all showed me what it looks like to LOVE BIG. Thanks for standing with me on my big day!
Groomswoman
Haley is without a doubt my oldest friend. Our friendship practically started in the womb as our parents were friends in their 20's and both moms pregnant at the same time. Ever since I can remember, Haley has been one of my absolute best friends. I wanted to honor her and her friendship in some way at my wedding. I was thrilled when Abby encouraged me to make her a groomswoman. Haley is the most loyal friend I have ever had, and in the last five years as I have been traveling, she's worked harder than any other friend I have to keep up with me. Currently, Haley is living in MN perusing her dream to work in fashion. She is a head of multiple departments at a major retailer, all while continuing to pursue her education. She's working hard to be at my wedding, and I am honored to have her.
Bridesmaid
Since 6th grade, Hannah has tolerated my shenanigans. Through thick and thin she stood by me, even at my lowest points struggling through high school. She always loved me and prayed for me, and now by God's grace she has gotten to walk through all that and stand with me on the other side. She was a constant bringer of Jesus' light into my darkness, and I'm so blessed to call her friend.
Groomsman
Josiah is entering into his fifth year of full time missions. Originally from California, he found his way down to Tijuana as a manny (male nanny) for a family he knew that came to do DTS. He never left. Now just a few years later he is an integral part of the YWAM community down in Mexico helping in everything from translating, to heading up Homes of Hope building projects, to bussing around and playing soccer with the local boys. I got to know Josiah as a friend as he staffed the C-SBS (Chronological School of Biblical Studies) that I recently graduated. He has become a great friend in a short time. Currently, Josiah is continuing to work with YWAM SDB, and is preparing to staff his second C-SBS. Also, he has gotten married very, very recently, and I couldn't be more excited for him!
Bridesmaid
My midwife school bestie! Oh the hours of studying, drinking coffee, traipsing around the island, laughing, and exploring we had. (Usually more procrastinating than studying). Sitting together in class, eating lunch together, sleeping on your floor in that tiny bedroom with your grumpy roommate. Talking about boys... so much talking about boys. Going to the beach, trying to get tan (in vain). Going to church on Sunday, and Bible study on Wednesday. Hiking, swimming, shopping, camping, roadtripping. We did almost everything together over those six months. Thanks for being my constant friend through one of the roughest seasons of my life, and standing with me when I finally marry that boy we were always talking about.
Groomsman
Jack, like Karl, was one of my roommates during SBS. Growing up in Kansas, Jack is a walking stereotype of the big-hearted people of the midwest. His desire is to pour into people and to see that they understand the love of Jesus. Jack is at the beginning of what I am hoping is a long and fruitful career in full time missions. He has a heart of see the homeless given shelter and opportunities, and is trusting God to bring his dreams to fruition. In a few short months Jack will be back in Mexico to begin his training as a bible teacher and will go out to the nations to spread the word of God. Although he has a busy summer of traveling planned, he is putting his plans on hold to come all the way back to Mexico to be a part of my wedding, and for that I am really honored.
Bridesmaid
One of the very first people I met when I moved back to San Diego last year, Bethie made me feel so welcome. She has the most genuine heart, and really invests in people. I've been so blessed to be one of those people. She has prayed for me, laughed with me, and given me her time. While she is one of my newer friends, she is definitely a dear one, and I'm thankful to have her standing with me on my big day.
Groomsman
Karl was one of my roommates during SBS. Karl is the son of a German doctor and an American teacher. He mostly grew up in Germany, however he has spent quite a bit of time in both places. When I first meet Karl, we talked about the differences between Germans and Americans with how they do friendships. He said Germans are a lot harder to know, but once you're friends with one, they're the most loyal friends you'll ever have. Karl's words were near prophetic. It took me a long time to get to know Karl, and there's still a lot I'm learning, but he's quickly becoming one of my closest friends. Karl has recently become deeply passionate about teaching the word of God. It has been wonderful to see all the things that God has done in his life. What he is coming is nothing short of exciting.
Groomsman
Sean was my best friend through what was the hardest time in both of our lives. I meet him the summer after high-school, as we were both preparing to go to the local community college. Neither of us were excited. What transpired after that was one of the harder 16 months of my life. Although times were tough, that season of my life still captures some of my fondest memories, most of which I share with Sean. Since then Sean and I have gone separate ways, I went off to missions, and Sean toured a great swathe of the states as a traveling salesman. In the rare times that I get to see him, we pick up right where we left off, as best of friends that we ever were. I am excited and honored that he is making the trip out.
Officiant
My wonderful father. He has been there for me since the beginning. He has coached me, schooled me, and discipled me. He has sat up all night taking with me, helping me pray through things big or small. He has shown me unconditional love and represented the father heart of God to me. He was the first most important man in my life; and while Kyle is now stepping into that position as most important man, my dad will always have a special place in my heart. So blessed to have my favorite father give me away and preside over this important day.
