How We Met

Karl's Story

In the bustling city of Denver, our love story unfolded through the digital threads of the internet. What began as casual online interactions evolved into a deep connection, growing stronger with each shared conversation. Despite any doubts, Kristen and I quickly arranged to meet in Denver for the first time, where our chemistry transcended the virtual world, affirming the depth of our love. On the day of our first meeting, I was pretty nervous as we approached each other outside a quaint café. Yet, as our eyes met, time seemed to stand still, and I knew that our connection was real. Little did we know at the time, but both Kristen and I had independently decided to move to Denver without knowing the other was doing the same. It was only when our love began to grow that we realized the puzzle pieces had been coming together for each other without even knowing it. I had left behind my life in Chicago, and Kristen had bid farewell to sunny Los Angeles, both of us unknowingly moving to Denver to find each other. Now, standing hand in hand at the altar, surrounded by loved ones, we know our love is defying boundaries. Since the first time I saw her, to life partners. This is a testament to the power of connection, proving that true love knows no bounds, whether in pixels or in person.

The Engagement Story

Kristen's Story

In December 2023, we went to Illinois to spend Christmas with Karl's family. We invited my mother, Maryann, to join us so she could meet Karl's family. Karl and I packed up his Jeep with presents, suitcases, and our dog Lola to make the drive. We spent a few nights in Chicago at the beginning of the trip, including a family dinner with Karl's parents and his siblings before his brother, Eric, and his family headed to North Carolina for the holidays. Throughout this time, it seemed like everyone was getting sick, myself especially having a fever and a cough. Karl and his family took great care of me and made me feel at home. On Christmas Eve, I was starting to feel a bit better so Karl asked me to go for a walk with Lola by the river in his hometown, St. Charles. When we were down by the river, Karl told me that he had gotten a new bandana for Lola, he knelt down and put it on her and it said "Will you marry my Dad?". Karl proposed, and I said Yes!
